The July Attitude of Gratitude

Ok, let's have a look at 5 things we are grateful for today. What are yours? What do we take for granted and should not?

Today, I am grateful for:

- Family

- Food and shelter

- A country that is safe

- Amazing weather we have had

- Helpful friends (especially old friends, one cannot make old friends...)

- And green pesto. (Yeah, 6th thing but I found an amazing pesto)

Re: The July Attitude of Gratitude

The Lovely Missus.

My 4 parents, who each passed on to me the aptitude to do loads of things - and taught me how to use those abilities so I could actually do them.

Being brought up to speak English, which gives me an advantage in this world (even though it restricted my requirement/ability to speak other languages).

Guitars. Because... well, they give me pleasure.

The Lovely Missus. Because I always count her as twice the blessing.

Bonus answer: The chance to compare life in the UK with CH and FR and ES so I understand (my opinion of) what's good and bad in all those cultures.

Regards

Re: The July Attitude of Gratitude

I am grateful for my health every day because 13 years ago I was diagnosed with a very serious illness, meaning I was in and out of hospitals for 2 years. It was a dark time.

Grateful for the life I've led with my husband, we've stuck together through times of difficulty and have thankfully weathered the storms (been together 35 years, married for 33).

I also never thought I'd be moving to another country in my mid 50s, had anyone suggested that to me 10 years ago I would have thought they were daft but it's worked out fine. I am a lucky lady

Re: The July Attitude of Gratitude

I have recently met a person who has encouraged me to sort out some of my problems and baggage. To stop wasting time and energy doing things that don't have real value. Yay for real friends.

Re: The July Attitude of Gratitude

I have a tray of seedlings that I sowed back in April or thereabouts and seeing nothing happened so far, had unofficially given up for dead. Now , in the heat of July they’ve suddenly poked their little heads out of the soil.

Go on , little uns, show the world there’s no quitting

Alrighty, today I am grateful:

- for opportunities to travel.

- for many others who get to travel.

- for opportunities to perform music to the public.

- for growing up in a musical, artistic and scientific family.

- for challenges in life.

- for London being such a great city.

- for interesting and inspiring friends.

Met up with a friend today who had a nasty accident many years ago and now has difficulty walking. But he refuses to give up and only uses the wheelchair when things get really unbearable. Gratitude for people who fight their battles, who don't quit, and who manage to spread smiles and happiness to others.

Re: The July Attitude of Gratitude

Today gratitude will be a little retrospective but it is good to look back...not forget some great moments:

- for over a 1700 musicians performing to raise cash for the national blind soc. For being able to fill up the venue and being able to sing there with others. For people asking if they can sing next to me to get the right pitch and sticking up to this without feeling perfect. For all the organizers. For the funniest conductor. Every year. For the kid section (Hackney Children's Choir, yay!), their coach and parents. For amazing soloists.

- for everyone who just picks up and goes helping others.

- for everyone who does random kind gestures.

- for british pubs where everyone talks to everyone and is genuinely sweet and funny.

- for lovely supportive family and friends.

Re: The July Attitude of Gratitude

Today, my list of gratitude goes to:

- DJ friends pointing my attention to new tunes, selflessly

- friendly crowds chilling at the lake

- family that bonds and opens up everytime we see eachother

- for all those courageous souls who willingly get vulnerable in order to get close to someone

- for those who also know that life is short
