A huge thanks to that dogooder this morning

you know who you are, stopping at an accident so you can scream at me for daring to over take you, then winding up the people in the car that pulled into me, going off on one about bikes??? (we where all in cars). Ranting at the family and persuading them to call the police, well done, you didn't like being overtaken, big deal, in your rage you now have got that girl a dangerous driving charge for what amounted to paint damage, her scraping the back corner of my car should have given it away.

This after I'd already agreed it was my fault, if you guys really want to drive at walking pace behind tractors don't be surprised when someone overtakes you.

The police confirmed there was absolutely no reason for them to have been called, but since they where ....

But I bet you drove away with a huge smile on your face thinking you'd screwed me over (maybe you'd like to pay her fine?)

oh and they are also going to fine the tractor drivers for not pulling over, i'm sure they'll also be over the moon (but to be fair they deserve it)

not really, 3 tractors in convoy followed by a couple of cars who refused to overtake for a good 5km, got to a nice long bit of road with an 80km limit and perfect visibility, tractors still at walking pace and they still wouldn't over take, so I did, when I got 3/4 past the girl she decided to overtake without looking or indicating and touched the back of my car. do-gooder was pissed about cars overtaking bikes!?!?!?!? and didn't like the fact I'd overtaken him, so decided to wind everyone up (and disappear before the police came)

I was being impatient, morally it was my fault and I would have paid no problem. dogooder took that out of everyones hands and the long arm of the law have spoken. I tried to convince the police it was all on me but the evidence was too damning.

Re: A huge thanks to that dogooder this morning

Some people...

I had A Swiss person driving into the side of my car at the carpark at the German border, so I got out and got in front of his car and explain calmly what happened, so we could look at things. He and his wife and son immediately start screaming and accusing me of being drunk.

While I looked at my car and noticed that thanks to having my wheels turned so they stick out he only drove his bumper in my wheel, so no damage and we al could move on. His wife however already was going towards the border patrol to tell them they caught a drunk driver. So border patrol calls the police and comes over to hear both our stories and takes in both our passports.

German police comes and again the whole family start screaming that I'm drunk and must be tested and everything. German police gives the family one warning, and due to his wife screaming again handed me my passport and wished me a good day and took the German guy along for an alcohol and drugtest (he did not smell like alcohol or anything, just a dumbass with an even dumber wife). I had a fun day

Had they just reacted normal, I would have had time to look without them driving away, nothing wrong and off we all are.

that about sums this morning up, I stopped saw its only paint on my car and a dent on her wing, let the insurance sort it out, but no, screaming, slagging off (yes, I like more people understand german insults), dogooder being a total cock - really, he had a real bee in his bonnet about cars overtaking bikes on that road, he was in a car. What could have been simple turned out to be 2 hours at the roadside and fines all round, which as shes was only 19 is going to hurt!!

Mine had a happy ending, your story didn't so there is a big difference, but what I like is that the more calm and reasonable you act the more those people get upset to the point where they can't curse anymore without spit flying all around.

they all refused to speak to me and for an hour wound themselves up into a stupor, by the time the police came I'm sure I was the devil and had been sacrificing babies during the wait, just glances and insults came my way lol.

yes for the initial minute after the 'crash' I was pissed off, mr dogooder massively enflamed the situation with his helpful advise.

funny how by the end of it they spoke perfect english to me, after they had been told it was her fault.

mr dogooder stopped as well, stormed out of his car literally screaming at me, shouting about bikes, stormed over to her family demanding they call the police, when it became clear I couldn't speak german and he could he switched to only german so god knows what he was saying, after about 20 minutes he persuaded them to call the police, left his details with them and buggered off.

he really didn't like being overtaken

Considering that most likely happened in Glarus and knowing there is a federal court case about an similar event on the Urnerboden (technically Uri) I am not surprised the police charged the young driver which pulled out into your car, specially as she hit you on the rear side.

The only and real non satisfying part of the story is that the Mr. Dogooder left the scene before the police arrived. I wish they could charge him with leaving the scene of an accident w/o police approval. But, as luckily nobody was hurt, this is AFAIK not possible. Real wanker of a performance artist, wasting everybody's including the police's time (whole ordeal could have been dealt with in less than 15 minutes) and not being present for the big reveal how epically wrong he was with his initial judgment.

Indeed poor girl. If she gets a driving ban her driving license probation period will get extended by a year. If there is another ban within probation period she will lose it for good and has to start from scratch after a mandatory one year waiting time.
