Kind of says the economy is nice and buoyant though, don't you think? Lots of investment, building and development shows a healthy purse!

Re: Zürich renovations

Many of these renovations were long overdue. Migros in Oerlikon (not just Migros proper, the entire building including the other shops and the Klubschule) was ill designed from the beginning and definitely showing its age and getting increasingly tatty.

Jelmoli I find more surprising though as it's not that long ago they did the last major renovation.

Omtatsat, you know I'm your fan in many of the witty, funny, quirkly things you write, but here I'm with jacek: please don't encourage such vile acts of terror, on the forum, or anywhere, ever.

Bombing is no joking matter. Not even with emojis after the word. Too many people have lost their lives, their loved-ones or their livelihoods through bombings. They just aren't funny.

Strange, every time I'm there I also see other people. Do you ever leave your home or are you just cruising the web to find another rant which you can use to feed your desire for attention.

Re: Zürich renovations

Mostly commuter traffic and workers in the nearby offices frequent Euroallee. Tourists dont have a f**ing clue it exists. It anyhow has zero to offer! But COOP/globus at the main station is central and building something world class there should be a priority.

@edwin. If you don't live in Zürich then you're not really a player in this discussion.

So you "own" that area Omtatsat?

PS: you do not need to live in Zurich to have an opinion, now, do you?

There are loads of restaurants down there and a good barometer of how popular an area is is to see how easy it is to get a lunchtime reservation. Most are booked up over midday most days. I’ve booked loads of times for client meetings, etc., but always have to be quick off the mark if I want a table at noon or just after.

A good barometer of how good the restaurants are is to see how easy it is to get an evening reservation.

Restaurants at lunchtimes have a captive audience. Employees and clients need to be fed, ideally, near a workplace. In the evening, people go because they want to.
