milk/yoghurt in recycled glass containers in Geneva

I can't see a thread on this and so I thought I'd mention that in Geneva now there are quite a few bio shops where you can get milk and yoghurt in glass containers. You pay 1chf/bottle deposit which is refunded when you bring back the container.

This has made us very happy as it means about 250 plastic milk and yoghurt containers per year we are no longer throwing away. And it's good quality produce! You can get sheep and cow yoghurt this way.

There's a number of normal brands sold in the migros/coop in glass jars where you don't have to pay a deposit and can be recycled through the normal channels, so accomplishes the same thing.

Those glass beakers normally come with a reusable lid, too, so I’ve used them as mini storage jars for all sorts of stuff from half-used chilis to paperclips!

I don't think it is the same thing. The bio store ones are reused - from that point of view I shouldn't have said 'recycled' in my title. I think that's much better!
