Re: Children making noise - laws

Maybe I'm looking at parenting from a different angle but the time you should be worrying is when the screaming and energetic crashing around stops and it all goes suspiciously quiet.

That lovely half hour lull of peace and quiet normally precedes a concerned call that a shed has been dismantled or the smallest kid in the group has been gaffa taped to a footbridge.

Or maybe that was just in my time. My poor mother...

Haha, this. We live in a family oriented area and our terrace is close to the play ground so I can hear pretty much everything. In time, I learned to distinguish between different types of cryings - when it's "real" - the child is really hurt, the theatrical performances , the tired child's crying, the bullying, etc etc etc etc. I am almost an expert in all these "musical" manifestations and I totally agree - sudden quietness smells some sort of trouble...

No idea. Do you keep garden tools, wellies and the lawnmower in it? If not - no.

Worst is when three little girls in a room go quiet and then you hear a giggle.
