Oh hell yes. Paracetamol and ice were my best friends for a good half of 2018.
Before I had my nose tumour whipped out, I'd been living on daily paracetamol for a couple of years, which probably wasn't very good for my liver.

I'm really grateful that I'm reduced to only taking it when I've got a nasty virus, which isn't very often these days (although my dreams of perpetual good health were never going to be particularly realistic given my line of work and family circumstances!)

Re: The September Attitude of Gratitude

Today gratitude goes to:

- friends who take the role of my family here to celebrate with me, for their generosity and selflessness, I expected nothing...

- for a friend who finally found a job he needed, after a few years. He is no longer in the air but grounded, still really happy.

- for a friend who told me how he prays.

- for the wekend, finally some rest.

- for my teacher friends, despite the schools being so different we have so much in common.

- for reading..creating the space and time it needs.

- for semi ok health and optimism it needs.

- for really bad jokes that never fail to make me laugh.

I'm grateful for coffee, lots of coffee.

And sunshine, because very soon it's going to be cold, gray, and depressing.

I try to enjoy tennis, cycling and jogging for the same reason. When I start commuting to work in Lucerne, which is about 55km each way on daily basis, my time will be very limited to do the above. Well coffee and lots of coffee will probably be drunk on regular basis though.

Yeah....I used to live along the Guerbetal in Belp. Gorgeous views except most of October, November into December where it was this weird white fog all freakin day.

Oks, let us have a look for stuff to be grateful for today and here:

- the weather has warmed up a little, the fall feels fab

- for books and people who share their love for reading, for creating time to read and protecting this time

- for a Msc student who talked to me about feeling isolated and unwelcome here, it is good for him to connect with somebody and stay courageous

- for lovely classes and open minds

- for finding some very simple recipes....for recovery

- for everyone I saw grinning today

- for selflessness

- for friends showing me ways to make things better

- for those who point out stuff I can improve

- for those who are genuinely happy for me and let me know

- for those moments that remind us to be very organized
MC ! I see there is still hope for you

From the above mentioned I only envy you that you are “great and full”. Skip the rest.
I feel rather down today (after I lost my tennis final) and my stomach is empty as well.

What’s a perruche?
The only thing that comes to mind is a budgie and I’m pretty sure you’re not one of those.

Reminds me of an unfortunate misunderstanding between ‘hairpiece’ and ‘herpes’.

Family legend, mother’s cousin was a district nurse.

Sorry, as you were, I’ll go back to my wine...

My great Aunt always used to refer to "dildo rails". Much hilarity around the table.

One of my extended family always looked forward to having a big libido in the garden for family barbecues...
