The September Attitude of Gratitude

Oks, let us have a look for stuff to be grateful for today and here:

- the weather has warmed up a little, the fall feels fab

- for books and people who share their love for reading, for creating time to read and protecting this time

- for a Msc student who talked to me about feeling isolated and unwelcome here, it is good for him to connect with somebody and stay courageous

- for lovely classes and open minds

- for finding some very simple recipes....for recovery

- for everyone I saw grinning today

- for selflessness

- for friends showing me ways to make things better

- for those who point out stuff I can improve

- for those who are genuinely happy for me and let me know

- for those moments that remind us to be very organized

That's when you check if your skirt's tucked into your knickers. You can thank me later

Is it me or did this thread use to be longer and contain less fuzzy wuzzy?

Certainly, you are right! Some posts have been taken down. Mine, a few posts up from here, no longer makes sense since it was in the context of those which were deleted.

Haha, no, a good few posts have been deleted. I guess NatAlexander wasn't too grateful or something like this.

So if someone doesn't like something then it's getting edited now? Interesting.

It clearly depends on who's doing the 'not liking something'.

Re: The September Attitude of Gratitude

I'm greatful for

- being endowed with great inteligence and wisdom allowing me to give so much to the world

- my immence musical talent which brings so much pleasure to every one around me

- my extraordinery good looks which brightens the days of every person i pass in the street

- the hire company who let me hire a flat hat with a tassel and a black flowing gown for a very special ceremony

- the generosity of my profesors who magnaminously allowed a mere hardworking and brillant student to shine so much brighter than they

- a beautiful sunny day which illuminates the framed certificate over the mantelpeace so effectively

- the trees wich gives us the oxygen we need to breath

- the cleaner who makes such a extra special effort to polish the framed certificate even though she know she probably will never get one herself

Have a very happy september every one!

Can't people just have one thread that is about positive things and things we are grateful for? There are hundreds/thousands more threads on which to complain, troll, etc. There's no big conspiracy here.

MC might have created this thread but I'm the one with the heavy mod hand in it. We received reports complaining about the trolling and personal comments being brought in from other threads, and I think the complaints were valid.

We should all take a step back now and then to appreciate what we have, and there's no reason to bring drama in from other threads.

Edited to add kumbaya and stuff

Sure. Consider me told.

I'm grateful for a myriad things, every day. Don't feel the need to wax lyrical on the internets however.

Oh c'mon, a little bit of positivity here and there will not hurt this forum.

Quiet introspection is depressing.

Btw, the opposite threads are McTavage's and slammer's (those scare the shit out of me)......man, I prefer the gratituddy ones.

Exactly.

I’m all for a bit of positivity and happy posts but some of them come across as ‘look at me! Look how good I’ve got it!’ Or ‘look how clever I am!’
There’s a fine line between positivity and happiness and plain showing off in my opinion.

Don’t agree with trolling the thread though, if you’ve nothing nice to say best to say nothing at all.

I'm eternally grateful for every fart that doesn't follow through. Just to bring the tone plummeting down, but it's true.
