The November Attitude of Gratitude

It's November already! Can you believe how fast the year has flown by? It seems only yesterday that it was the middle of October, yet here we are.

Did you enjoy Hallowe'en? I'm not a fan, myself, but I know that it brings a little light into the miserable dark lives of so many people, especially those who enjoy handing out laxative candies to strangers' children. We should all be grateful for small pleasures, indeed!

Well, that was a bit of a turnaround last night, wasn't it? I don't think Boris was expecting that! I wonder how long the expeditionary force is expected to stay. I heard that they were planning on leaving by Christmas, but you can never tell with these continental types, can you? Still, it was good of them to bring food packages and medicines. My aunt was saying how the very nice Dutchman who is billeted with her gave her a packet of licorice. She'd have preferred a few vials of insulin, but beggars can't be choosers, eh?

So there we are. Where were we?

Oh yes, I'm grateful to be living in Switzerland, with food on the table and wood in the stove.

Small things. I wish you all a great month!

Excellent! Thank you. Now, can we please fly through December, too, so we can come out on the other side of Christmas and New Year?

The stores seem to have started that journey...I'm off to buy those Christmas decorations, so grateful they let me buy their stuff! I'll throw myself at their feet, I tell you.

Great idea! Now can we please have the December and January gratitude threads too so we can be incredibly grateful to have the kerfuffle and oozing words all over and done with.

In fact if all of 2020 could be dealt with in one oozy saccharin post that would be grand. I would be ever so grateful for that.

That would make my year, that would. I’d be eternally grateful if that were to happen.

I hope so, because then we'd be through with the US elections. I'm so not looking forward to that shit show. On a positive note, I sent in my Swiss vote today. Switzerland is grateful for that.

None up here - but got a big bag full of Surrey chestnuts picked in daughter's garden, with grandchildren.

I say cancel November and swap for 1.5 June and 1.5 October.

Re: The November Attitude of Gratitude

I like November. Cheap flights and still a good chance of decent weather at many destinations.

I also like the autumn colours, the change of seasons.

Spent last weekend planting 10 trees. Each in a hole a meter deep and a meter across and there were only two of us. Who needs a gym to keep fit? Blisters are dirty fingernails are much more fun.

I've been to Crete and Lanzarote for peanuts in November and managed to get a tan both times. Wonderful time of year. Halloween in Playa Blanca was charming and interesting.

Yes, it's basically off-season and a good month to travel....from certain points of view. It's never much cheaper where I want to travel though and besides the weather would be shitty there too. But do you want to visit museums and stuff without having to fight with like half of the globe? Maybe this is the time. lol

I'm grateful for the climbing and belaying centres. Plus they have courses for small kids too, a bliss.
