I has been all over the news for quite some time.

It has to be said that the police officer was out of duty during his freak-out.

It also has to be said that he carried a police ID very visible around his neck, and identified himself as being police.

Just an asshole who deserves losing his job.

Re: Wintertur police officer terrorizes car driver and daughter

Why was the driver holding a camera as he drove? And why did he speak to his daughter in heavily accented German? Is that how the y speak at home?

Which makes it even worse.
He should be prosecuted for all kinds of stuff: Duress (he blocked the victim from driving on at least twice) assault, threat (he told the other one he'll lambast him and "I know where you live"), insult and wearing that police-thingy around his neck was probably abuse of office.
Wonder what they learn at police-academy

But it was Winterthur. Sad to say but he'll go off scot-free, I'm sure.

I am not sure wether he deserved to loose his job. If I have a public meltdown for whatever reason, I hope that I don't loose my (unrelated) job on top of it.

Sue him for defamation, libel whatever.

Re: Wintertur police officer terrorizes car driver and daughter

there's more to the story, according to youtube comments. Something about a gesture with a middle finger, another gesture 'ill kill you' with the hand/finger going across the throat, and that the guy only started filming after this had already happened and he knew a confrontation was imminent

Yeah I don't know why he wore that police thingy, here's his explanation:

Er sagt, dass er während dem Vorfall nicht im Dienst gewesen sei. «Ich musste mich aber als Polizist ausweisen, weil der Mann mir zuvor den Stinkefinger gezeigt, mir den Vortritt genommen und einen Schikanestopp durchgeführt hat.» Der Polizist sei mit seiner Familie unterwegs gewesen. «Der Mann hat einen Unfall riskiert und provoziert. Wir haben Ängste ausgestanden», so der Polizist.

Thing is, if he identifies as a police officer, he should act like a police officer. If he can't do that he is on the wrong job.

Uhh this is bad ! For this purpose you need to have a sister . Just like my Navy Son when he had to attend a function witch requert him to be in uniform . My daughter or his sister went with him to take the car back .An the way there a other diver cut in front of him ,it did not go down well with my son and he just about to let him know . His sister,"Let me take care of him your in Uniform " and she did

That will never happen. All you will see is omtatsat frantically hammering his keyboard, red faced and amongst a pile of Blick- and 20-Minutes papers.

Not forbidden but is it normal for a father and daughter to speak to each other in a foreign language?

Surely they would speak in their mother tongue - unless the father planned to get this story online in German-speaking Switzerland...

So maybe he just forgot in the excitement that he was speaking german. You want to read so much into this to take the blame away from the cop
