Re: Clocks change to "Winter" Time 27th October 2019

Why wasn't I informed? I got up 1 hour too early! But lets look on it on the positive side-it gives me an hour extra to post on EF. And it's great to be back to normal time.

The morning after is great: you sleep well and still wake up early.

I changed all different types of clocks without even wondering how to.
That means, this was the last time they did this. Fate works like this with me: Once I figured something out, I never need to do it again.

Does this mean we have fallen back in time for one last time never again to spring ahead?

Alas, it probably won't be the last time. Next time change is forseen for 29 March 2020: https://www.timeanddate.com/time/change/switzerland

And if they do stop changing, I wish that they would leave it on permanent summer time.

Don't worry. It's not going to change until at least end 2021.

I'd rather have light at 7PM.

at 7AM, I'm still asleep!

Strangely my body clock is better suited to winter time. I've been sleeping well this week for the first time in months.

Get rid of summer time!

Young kids and winter time just don’t work. Them waking up at 05:15, followed by me passing out on the sofa at 9pm. Constantly exhausted. A pox on whoever came up with the idea.

On the other hand, it's great that young kids do not have to go to the kindergarten in the darkness. Winter time allows them to walk in the daylight even on the shortest day of the year (apart from Schulsulvester when they have to be in the school/KiGa at 6 or so, I hate that day so much!)

Even if it were still summer time, they wouldn't be walking to school in the dark unless they live in Scandanavia!

Right now, yes. But in the middle of December, no. It's still dark when we are having breakfast even in the winter time. Sunrise in Zurich on Dec 22 is 8:10 winter time (9:10 summer time).

...however twilight starts earlier. Even on 21 December there's decent light from about 07:30 onwards.
