Cart Grant was a Brit, Hepburn from Connecticut, as was her accent.

Tom
Wrong Hepburn.
Katherine was from Connecticut, Audrey was considered to be a Brit although she was half Dutch.

Re: Which English do you speak?

My favourite English accent from a non-Brit is Sophie Hermann of Made In Chelsea. She manages to combine the cut glass accent with "cl-ass" instead of "cl-arse" and carry it off.

Katherine Hepburn was. Audrey was not
But the accents are not dissimilar. Upper class/aspirational US accents of the 30/s 40s etc are closer to RP than that generic US accent we get now.

Re: Which English do you speak?

That mad old bat in the video was from west of the Pennines. Possibly Derbyshire, Cheshire or Lancs, but definitely not Leics or Notts.

Not sure what the relevance of the builders' accents is.

Which is a pity. I strongly dislike the flat, nasal screechy voices. I like Katherine Turner and Tea Leoni‘s voices.

They don’t have the same accent as she does so if we’re discussing her then theirs is totally irrelevant.

Definitely not Lancs because of the way she said load as luwd.

I was focusing on the woman's accent, so I'd have to listen again for the lads' accents.

First builder vaguely West country I think, the second one I'm now thinking is more Stoke.
Woman still North Derbys.

I like Kate Winslet's voice and her "American" English (God knows how does that sound to other people, but it does it for me).

Meg Ryan's voice/accent too. Many others, but they are the first that came to my mind.

Could be, or Notts. Possibly even Leics, from the less pronounced accents of the builders.

Re: Which English do you speak?

Could be just a bit of theater? ....sorry theatre?
I’ve been listening very closely to people in the Midlands and Yorkshire because I have difficulty understanding the local lingo (quite lovely the lilt) and I’ve noticed that many people say «me» instead of «my».
That doesn’t appear to happen in the video.
So I wondered if it is authentic? or an impersonation of an accent.

They do, it's just not a clear "me" - more like "mi". Just like the t in 'I'm goin' down t't shop" isn't ever as hard as imitators make it.

I have never understood why UK English people have always adjusted their accent, based who they are talking to.

It’s absurd.
