Update. Finished the new floor, window and door are installed, ceiling is installed, cables are already in the walls. Now I have to do the Putz, and at last vinyl floor.

Is this the room, the oil-tank was in?

Re: What would you do with a spare room?

Actually, if I had a spare room, I'd put an oil tank in and control the heating/hot water of my own flat.

Just kidding. Heating down once a week here now, getting annoying.

A gym. You can kind of see in the pic a bike and a Power Plate. More to come when it's finished.
Yeah, that is awesome. My gym opens on Monday, but seeing folks waiting outside the little stores to come in one by one today, I got put off my gym for a little while longer. Good for you having your own sport dungeon. I miss the machines. But having your own gym that you built yourself....neat.

Yeah, the pleasure of building something with your own hands, I think it's not far from making music. I guess like any other manual craft, seeing a straight ceiling, and straight window, everything well done, it's a permanent reminder of how worth all those hours were. Plus free gym for life.

I didn't really, it's my idea right now. What I did do already is I raised and levelled the floor with self-levelling compound (there was a 30mm difference between the deepest point and the highest point on that slab). I thought that vinyl on top is a good choice as: 1) it won't get ruined by moving gear, pushing weights on the floor, maybe a few drops of sweat, etc 2) it's ridiculously cheap and 3) it's very easy to remove afterwards if I ever want to repurpose the room or upgrade the flooring to decent wood.
Personally I wouldn't do wood. If you can source a remnant from the Forbo vinyl collection you will never want to switch it. There are vinyls which are not slippery and will take the weight of fitness machines without a mark.

Absolutely. Well done. Were you the one who basically had to get into it through a window?

Music, clothes, we made our own dishes we eat from, quarantine gave me enough patience to start a giant scarf, too, that I was never too inspired to do before. I like to see what you have done, it is incredibly professional.
