anybody going to Louis C.K show @basel?

I find it odd that the late show sold out, but the early one is more or less half capacity, given the amount of expats/english speakers

I thought people were boycotting his shows due to his unsavoury activities.

Being on the wrong side of Zürich to get to Basel at a reasonable time, I would have preferred to get a ticket to the late show. Might be a reason for some people not going for the early show.

As far as him being a jerk, yes he is, but I also find him funny which I find to be a good reason to see a comedian.

That may be it - weren’t the Zurich shows cancelled?

I enjoy comedy but his total lack of remorse for his actions means I think it is definitely a show to avoid.

"total lack of remorse" seems a weird term for someone that apologized to whom he wronged years before the article came out.

that article is cringe worthy tho

Would you say the same if Asia Argento, who committed actual sexual abuse of a minor rather than "mere" harassment, was a comedian and you liked her humour? She returned to modeling a few months ago btw.

Did *she* ever apoligise or show remorse?

nobody says it isn't wrong. it was 10 years ago, he apologized before long before the article, he admitted it publicly. what now, he doesn't get to have a career? who gets to do the sentencing?

Don't worry, he'll always have his audience however small it may be.

Is this that "whataboutery" I hear so much about?
- a woman commits sexual abuse of a minor. Her return to the spolight after less than two years is an complete non-event and perfectly fine.
- a man commits sexual harassment, a much lighter offense. His return to the spotlight two years later is an utter disgrace and inacceptable.

Actually it's about double standards and misandry. Yours as as well as many others'.
