Honestly? Anything handmade will always make you warmer than mass-produced clothing. You may look a tad too hipster but...https://www.etsy.com/market/knitted_scarves So artsy. So original.

Or ask here, there are EF knitters/crochetters around here. Speaking of which, I am rushing my projects for xmas but I know I will be finishing some 30min before the tree is lit.

Did you check the Christmas markets?

Where?

Do you mean in the stalls between Manor & Globus and by the Singing Xmass Tree?

Or in main station?

I think the ones on Sechseleutenplatz are almost all only food stalls.

I just can't see myself spending 500-950chf for a scarf that I'm going to lose on the train.

Just don't take it off!

They make attaching clips, for skiing gloves . I know because I lose gloves the min I buy them. And umbrellas.

But 950fr is a tad...overkill.

To be honest, there's no point buying hand-knitted scarves unless you've personally met the sheep.

Some of these so-called "craftspeople" source their yarn from all kinds of places.

Perhaps try buying quality rather than quantity and then actually taking care of it?

Besides, why not spoil yourself with cashmere.

I found that the hair of Brits discussing Brexit is the finest. Nowhere else will you find so finely split hairs.

So funny, when I started this thread I thought to myself, "Now here's a very simple, straight-forward, innocuous, non-controversial thread topic that no one will start arguing over and everyone will come out unscathed.

.... not that I mind the quote above ..... actually, jokes make the threads more entertaining ..... just laughing at my own delusions.

I like your delusions. Scarves can be so controversial, too.

Thanks for any thoughts.
If you are looking for good stuff, then Transa.ch.

It was amazing to shop there before out trip to the Artcic last year. And also on our previous trips. They are knowledgeable, and you'll walk away with what you need, if you go in knowing what you want.

Globus and co. will sell you stuff that is just silly if you want to keep warm.

Just go for a wool scarf. ASOS has tons https://www.asos.com/search/?page=1&q=wool%20scarf

Only a complete lunatic, or someone who is filthy rich, spends that amount of money on a scarf.

Some people think the same about watches and frying pans.
