Where can I buy a good cup of filter coffee

Do any shops sell filter or drip coffee in Switzerland, especially in Zurich ?

I was looking around in different coffee shops but this has'nt taken off like it has in Asia, which surprised me.

Sure it hasn't. Switzerland has a good coffee culture and this is why we like good coffee here.

.
Out of the many, many ways of brewing coffee around the world, the filter/drip method has got to be the worst.

The coffee is overheated.
Far too much caffeine is leached out of the coffee which means you feel nauseous after a couple of cups.
The coffee is also bitter and unpleasant.
Leaving it warm on the pot heater only makes it taste worse.

But that's enough about the good points...

Silberkugel at Bleicherweg maybe?

Here an article from 2017 mentioning five places where you can get what you want: https://insider.lunchgate.ch/filterkaffee-zuerich/
BANK Helvetiaplatz, COFFEE Grüngasse 4, Lily’s Factory Sihlfeldstrasse 58, Henrici Niederdorfstrasse 1, Auer & Co Sihlquai 131
Go there, drink coffee, chat with the locals, make friends, find more spots.

It's good south of the Alps, up north, 2-3x the price and crap.

Not sure about that, but if it makes you happy, so be it. Actually one of the worst espresso's I've had was in Milan and one of the best was next to the lake in a almost invisible small cafe in Zurich.

The filter and drip coffee that i've tasted is not bitter but i'm not looking to convert anyone keep on doing what works for you.

I actually get mine made fresh so it's not left brewing for hours on end.
I've never experienced 'less caffeine' from my filter/drip coffee and always enjoy that strong kick after trying many varieties over the past few years.

I do drip coffee for the caffeine..In the next life I might be a coffee snob, this turn I am ok with whatever gives me the most energy and fast.

Filter coffee was the standard 30 years ago (at least, where I lived, in coffee country #1) but times have changed.

I am sure of it.

CHF 2 here, CHF 4-5 in Zurich, EUR 1 in Italy.

Still better south of the border, and half the price.

Re: Where can I buy a good cup of filter coffee

I never understand why people go to Starbucks when there are so many really great places to go for coffee. We used to have Spanish friends in Basel who always used to insist on ending up in Starbucks when we'd been out to eat. I'd rather drink something that's been strained through a dirty football sock.

People don't go to Starbux for coffee.

Zurich coffee is horrible, but German coffee is even worse.

For coffee, cheaper is better.

It's leached out into the coffee you are making so there's more caffeine. Far too much for me.

Italian espresso, for example, really doesn't have much caffeine compared with filter.

Obviously, you haven't had good coffee. But that's ok, no need to groan for not having taste.
Funny, not even a mention of Lugano. It's all Zurich, Geneva and Basel

You should switch to decaf, you're too edgy on topics that don't really matter.
