Re: Terry Jones has died

Very sad, grew up with Do Not Adjust Your Set and Monty Python, I sometimes think kids "got" the Pythons more than adults did. I bought a book about the history of the Edinburgh Fringe back in '97 which had some great pics of Jones and Palin performing there in their early 20s, think they were still students. Loved all those dotty screeching housewives played by Jones and Chapman, they reminded me of 2 of my mother's older sisters

When the Python scripts were released in 2 volumes back in the late 80s I got a set signed by Michael Palin, still have them. I also worked for a heritage charity where part of my job involved liaising with Palin's son who was with another heritage charity, he lived at Spitalfields in London near our offices. Nobody ever used to ask him if Michael Palin was his dad, we were all too timid

I owe much of my English to Monty python. He will be sorely missed.

Indeed.

I remember watching "Monty Python's Flying Circus" on ORF2 with subtitles, every Thursday, around 22:30 when I was still in school.
