I work in Lucerne and we use the canteen of a well known Swiss dairy company. Now we got informed that we (externals) are only allowed to eat there as from a certain time... Feels like we are lepers that need to be separated from the flock??

The kitchen staff was rather embarrassed

At the headquarters or the food processing plant? If it's food, there there should be some standards.

It´s HQ and nothing is processed there as it is HQ.

Yes, obviously food is made in the canteen kitchen but our coming in later does not change anything in that process....... as we do not access that part at all.

Probably due to a glut due to the mild European winter and much less demand.
Actually, it has little to do with that. Instead, it is down to a school yard fight over costs.

"Crude prices declined after the Saudi move to start a price war after Russia balked at making further steep output cuts proposed by OPEC to stabilise oil markets hit by worries over the global spread of the coronavirus. Saudi Arabia plans to boost its crude output above 10 million barrels per day (bpd) in April after the current deal to curb production expires at the end of March, sources told Reuters. What is everyone doing to boost their immunity?
I am not taking zinc, but I came across this article.

Zn2+ Inhibits Coronavirus and Arterivirus RNA Polymerase Activity In Vitro and Zinc Ionophores Block the Replication of These Viruses in Cell Culture
Quote:
Here, we not only show that corona- and arterivirus replication can be inhibited by increased [intracellular] Zn2+ levels, but also use both isolated replication complexes and purified recombinant RdRps to demonstrate that this effect may be based on direct inhibition of nidovirus RdRps.
I don't have any elderberry syrup either.

Inhibitory activity of a standardized elderberry liquid extract against clinically-relevant human respiratory bacterial pathogens and influenza A and B viruses

Black elderberries (Sambucus nigra L.) are well known as supportive agents against common cold and influenza.
I'm concentrating more on avoiding being infected. I had an almost argument with the school Präsidentin this morning. I got a crash course in Swiss school regulations. As I recall, the last time I was in trouble with a head teacher I got my calves slapped.

So that's

It's a country that loves its rules, best to inform yourself properly about them before picking a fight.

Scientific question of the day: if you must not touch your eyes or mouth unless you've washed your hands, does this mean you cannot touch your willy when you go for a wee?

As long as you subsequently do not touch your eyes or mouth with your willy, you will be fine.

I have meditated on this. The first time while ensconced on the throne. I think you should wash your hands both before and after.

Seen in an IKEA in northern Italy on Sunday.

If everyone got a large umbrella with a 1m circumference, would that suffice, and would it obviate the need for face masks?

That would give 32cm between the exact centre of each person. Allowing for body size that would be a gap of something like 10cm.

You´re kidding, aren´t you? Permits are not reliant on this so if they grant you one you can always discuss with your employer to start later.

And let´s hope that by May this is all over.
