If Terrifisch feels insulted, he/she can report the post. No need to follow up with your own insults please?

A forum is a place, situation, or group in which people exchange ideas and discuss issues, especially important public issues.

---------------------------------------------------------

I totally agree with you and I'm not a troll. I found how Terrifisch is making good points and was so surprised the way she was attacked , in a way insulted. So I replied to that person. I did say how yes we need that other thread because here on this thread people do come to share their fear and out of respect we should not bring any contradiction . It's like walking in a church and yelling "god does not exist" . But , I got tempted and carried away, my apologies to anyone who feels disturbed by posts like mine .
No need to apologize. I just mock and make fun of some of your posts. Never felt offended or disturbed.

rogner , I did not insult anyone and I will never do it I usually have other weapons

As a student and later on polemic was in the scope of my work so I'm used to it and that may look a bit too rude because you all know each other here (more or less) and here I am ,fighting around when I should be just humble (and I am,but covid made me angry)

Explain to me how Covid mutations are any different from influenza mutations?

Oh, that's right...I almost forgot that influenza has been eradicated in the past year because of lockdowns and social distancing. Or could this be a case of labeling COVID cases which in previous years, would have been classified as influenza? How is it possible, statically speaking, that influenza cases dropped so dramatically?

Common logic would tell you that there is no way that this could occur...
Influenza cases do not show up COVID positive in COVID testing

Have you considered posting in the other thread 'Covid+ Conspiracy Theories/Claims' ?

You shouldn't be too humble around here because this is the last place one should be humble. EF, like many other social media creations, is one unkind place. Write whatever you want (responsibly if possible), they do it too.

I believe we could simply rebrand EF to CF. Conspiracy Forum Switzerland. Will match quite well with the ancient forum engine.

Last week:

1021 new cases
54 hospitalisations
10 deaths

31027 tests.

It'll be interesting to see whether the slight pickup in cases feeds through to increased deaths or not given the vaccination of the most at risk.

As I predicted, a long time [1] ago:

The vaccination passports are coming.

Of course, politicians assure us that there are no "special privileges" attached to them.

Even if it were true that flu cases are labelled as COVID (which I do not believe) then it would have very little impact on the COVID death statistics.
In the last year, there were half a million COVID deaths in the US, whereas US flu deaths averaged only around 30,000 per year for the last ten years.
Annual US Flu deaths are on average only 6% of the Covid death toll.

What would the flu death toll be if there was no flu vaccine?

Er because it's a completely different disease caused by a completely different virus?

Quote:

Covid has a single spike protein which hasn't significantly changed since the pandemic began. It got a bit "optimised" in SA and BR, but nothing significant so far.....

I think your post shall be moved to the conspiracy thread.
The Covid virus was unusually stable (surprisingly so for most scientists studying it) for a RNA virus up to ~November. However since then the Kent, SA and Brazil mutations do represent significant changes to the spike protein, the latter two sufficiently so that they are causing problems for the vaccines up to partial vaccine escape. A particular mutation - E484K - has appeared independently in both SA and Brazil (and I believe in a new mutation in the UK) that appears to at least partially dodge vaccine and natural immunity.

BTW there isn't just the one spike protein on the virus, it is covered with the things.

Agree with your last sentence however - that post has no place in this thread.

Estimates for the US are around 6,000 - 7,000 lives saved pa. on the same basis.

Marton said there were 30k a year, thats with a vaccine so 6-7k without a vaccine does not make sense unless the vaccine kills 4 times as many people that it saves.

Sorry...That was lives saved. So perhaps 36,000 or 37,000 without. Post corrected.

In the past few days, I have found out that my best friend in the US has Covid right now and is battling some pretty nasty symptoms, and my other close friend's father is dying of Covid in Florida right now and isn't expected to make it more than a few more days.

And now my son has developed a fever today and had to stay home from school... Hopefully we can get him tested tomorrow.

I know the #'s have been improving here, but please stay safe out there...
Havent seen you post in a while, hope he tested negative!
