It seems appropriate for people who post hysterical nonsense. Advocating riots in one of the most democractic countries on Earth? Weird.

Re: Coronavirus

In the next week, the corona vaccine from the US pharmaceutical company Johnson & Johnson is expected to receive marketing approval in the EU. Approval in Switzerland is also imminent, like the"NZZ am Sonntag" (Paid article) writes.

Johnson & Johnson has provided crucial data , confirms the Deputy Director of Swissmedic, Claus Bolte: "If the quality and informative value are correct and J&J answers the last open points quickly, a decision in March is conceivable." That would put the federal government in a special position - after all, Switzerland has not placed any vaccine orders with the US manufacturer .

Instead, the federal government is waiting for 5.3 million vaccine doses from AstraZeneca. Approval of this vaccine before April is unlikely, according to the report. A study with test subjects in the USA is still missing. So far, the only results available for the vaccine are how it has proven itself in practice. However, the scientific standards prescribe randomized, double-blind studies for Swissmedic approval. In addition, all manufacturers should be treated equally.

There are many nuances to the J&J vaccine efficacy vis-a-vis Pfizer and Moderna.

Here is an interesting article which highlights how these trials were run:

When it comes to variants though, it retains around 60% efficacy, while the other two (MRNA and PFI) drop to the same 60%. Given that variants will dominate very soon it doesn't matter which one to take. JnJ is one shot, less bothering.

April? I don't f---ing believe it.

The AZ volumes that CH has ordered must in parts be available, right? Couldn't BAG swap these for Pfizer or Moderna with some someone else for the time being?

I’m one of those people, but I’m not intent on being vaxxed for a vacation. I’d take the J&J in a second, too.

My American Chiropractor who lives in France wants AZ as she believes it is the most likely to prevent her spreading COVID to patients.

Only for a bit. Let's be honest - the UK is more or less out of the woods unless there's a problem with (new) new variants. Everyone 56 or over can book a vaccination appointment now. They are still fixated with cases despite the whole point of vaccination prioritisation being to break the link between cases and deaths.

Meanwhile Switzerland is allowing vaccines it hadn't bought, and has bought vaccine it isn't going to allow (despite everyone else having done so). If theres significant Moderna delays we are screwed as that's what the country's entire strategy is based on.

According to SRF and others the A-Z authorisation is expected very soon.

https://www.srf.ch/news/schweiz/kamp...ssung-zu-spaet

Meanwhile, Austria have paused A-Z immunisations after a 49 year old care worker died. Chances are it was nothing to do with the vaccine but this is standard and correct practise for a new(ish) treatment.

Nothing in the article sounds like "very soon". Maybe in 3-4 weeks. And I have heard that before. And then if they approve, it will be probably another few weeks before they actually start using it.

Other sources are indicating more 1 or 2 weeks (used this link as there is other interesting stuff in it). But your second point is probably correct anyway.
