Blood clots after vaccinations - Denmark suspends AstraZeneca
The Danish Health Minister announced on Twitter that the use of AstraZeneca vaccine will be suspended until further notice.

The article does not say if these have occured in Denmark aswell or if they are refering to the cases reported from Austria.

Is this really necessary? With such few instances of this happening, why suspend the entire vaccination program? Especially when the alternative is people dying of Covid in their thousands. Not to mention the ammunition it gives to the anti-vaxxers!

Yes, transparency is necessary. Overlooking or trying to conceal facts, even small ones, can backfire spectacularly in the medium/long term.

Don't worry, scientist are used to being questioned.

Denmark has 2-3 corona deaths per day at the moment. So the potential death of even one person from pulmonary embolism caused by vaccination would be comparable with this number.

Exactly. I've read rumours that young people are dying in Israel after vaccination and the authorities are hiding these deaths because according to their contract with Pfizer they are not allowed to disclose the results of the vaccination 5 more years from now. If antivaxxers don't find enough input from the news they just invent it themselves.

Hopefully this is not the entire vaccination program but only AZ part.
People dying from Covid in thousands is not the alternative in Denmark, the numbers there are low, so there is no urgency and the AZ deaths should be investigated.

Pfizer must and do report all deaths, there is no way they can hide safety data.

I can't actually tell if you're trying to prove a point about making stuff up there or actually trying to make a legitimate comment given the scaremongering nature of your wording.

Interesting but not conclusive

Covid case and death rates were higher in GOP-led states in second half of 2020, study finds

At their peak differences, case rates and deaths rates in Republican-led states were about 1.8 times higher than those in Democrat-led states.

Other studies have found that Republican governors were slower to adopt mask mandates and stay-at-home orders and that stay-at-home orders typically lasted longer under Democratic governors.

I won't bother to find the link then However you don't know when they were first in SA or Brazil......... or even the first place to have the UK variant. I had covid before it was supposed to be in Europe, it's now acknowledged it was in Paris by December 19
That's ancient news.

Covid has been found last year (mid-year?) in wastewater probes from Torino and Milano that had been taken mid-December 2018.

Re: Coronavirus

So, now that EF members spent 14 months (and over 700 pages on my count) becoming specialists on corona, tell me the logic of something I've been wondering on and off:

When we cough these days (well, the past year) we should cough into the cubital fossa.
Most people do that from like 10 to more centimetres away. (= all over the f*ing place).
When we greet people we are supposed to hit elbows instead of shaking hands.

Not to mention that minutes later they will put their mouth as close as they individually are able to to said elbow for the next cough - or to pick up the details of the last cough of the last greeted.

As people actually follow this advice (which I wonder who gave that in the first place?!) I seem to be the only only who's bemused?
I must be a real rebel to refuse this new habit.

just for one year world created at least 3 types of vaccines, we are not arguing anymore "if there will be vaccine ever?" but about "which type of vaccine is better and which instance is good enough for my body aka my temple?"

With you all the way. I just can't get used to the idea of coughing or sneezing into my... what was that name again?! Elbow, as we call it (both sides). And since I don't use my hands on anything public anymore, it's probably safer for me to use it as a receptacle than to use my elbow.

Although in Israel have done their 'Green Pass' system which allow people to not have to wear masks who have been vaccinated which remove their need to social distance and so on, so it is happening.
what about "even if you gas been vaccinated, you can still transmit the virus, so kill everyone around you"-narrative?

It's very simple, vaccines have been proven beyond any doubt to be effective. Masks and most lockdown measures haven't. Certainly in the case of lockdowns, they cause more harm than the good they're supposed to do. Basically the agreed scientific position pre-2020, when the world collectively took leave of its senses!

I think we are supposed not to come close to each other to the distance less than 1.5 m whenever possible. Hitting the elbows or the feet are for those (strange people) who absolutely need to touch the person they are greeting.
