As for your comment, Omtatsat, you're trolling again.
That was no troll. I am a professional health worker ( nursing ) And we are talking here about volunteers

A total of 36 Iranians have died of alcohol poisoning after consuming doctored alcohol in Ahvaz, the capital of south-western Khuzestan province, the official Irna news agency reports.

The report said that "consuming fake alcohol has occurred due to the spread of rumours that drinking alcohol would prevent the coronavirus infection".

I'm now thinking about the people in other thread talking about homemade masks
None of those people will catch the virus. The first 100% effective vaccine.

Re: Coronavirus

I just got some information from my employer, I'm entitled to salary if: do home office, I get sick, taking care of a sick child, if employer closes the office (I have to work extra later to compensate missed hours), closure of schools (have to take care of children).

I'm not entitled to salary payment if:
  1. I'm outside of Switzerland on personal trip and cannot return due to border closures
  2. Public transport failure or planned stop (home office is the alternative)
  3. Quarantine of the place of residence
Number 3 is really interesting. If cantonal or federal authorities decide to quarantine my village and I cannot do home office...I'm screwed. Who pays the rent and food then?

If they quarantine the village you can still work from home no?

That’s what I’m planning if any of the above happens..

Depends on the job, no? You can't serve in a restaurant from home, or do lobotomies from home, etc.

I posted some links to Zerohedge toward the very beginning of the outbreak and got a slapped wrist for doing so! This was around the time some members were telling us to ensure we got our flu jabs
It's an interesting site. Granted, they were often very wrong in the past.

But with COVID19, I was always sure they were dead on.

I mean for those already able to work from home, the village being put in quarantine wouldn’t make much difference? For me at least..

I’m pretty sure that quarantine does not mean full lock down, we’d still be allowed to get food delivered, leave for certain reasons, still have internet.. etc . Italy still seems to be pretty free to travel, go shopping etc going by the pics in the press ..

Well actually, Tessin (89) has only 13 cases less than Vaud (76) as of today! Good luck cutting off Vaud... Apparently most Vaud cases are being confined at home with just paracetamol as their symptoms don't justify using up the precious isolations rooms ...
I wrote proportion not number. Tessin has less than half the population of Vaud so well over twice the proportion.

1: Makes Sense, my wife already cancelled 2 congresses of which this was one of the reasons, and likely to cancel 4 more, and depending on your profession you could even work from where-ever aslong as there is internet, else tough luck.

2: Yep, not your employers problem.

3: If you don't have reserves best to call the landlord/bank asap and come to some agreement on delays if such happens, can't blame the company either since there is nothing at all they could do about such governmental restriction. Also if it would last some time many people would lose their job since a lot of companies will not have so much spare money to just keep on paying without getting a dime in. If it happens to a lot of people government will most likely come up with a ruling where delayed payment becomes a right like in Italy.

I changed the words because I did not copy/paste the company email. The precise wording is not a big concern. My worry is that the lawyers that are usually used against clients or competitors are now used against employees. This trend change signals they already have a plan and employees don't know the details.

Not today, but it may be a needed later to write a letter to the landlord about delayed payments.

2 or 3 days ago it was 81.7 at that moment in Italy currently I have no idea about exact numbers of age. It is not only old people who die there now but they are the large majority.

As for the company and getting paid or not, not much has changed. If your flight was delayed 10 yrs ago and you missed another day your company would also not pay for that. The rules are basically very simple if you can't work and you are not ill, and it is also not the companies fault they don't have to pay.

Just wait until the bees come out. You should start cutting the masks to size.

Everything is getting cancelled, all my friends in orchestras and theaters, getting messages of all the stuff being called off. Gotta lift up my spirit.
