For German speakers: they will be discussing the connection between vaccination and the recent numbers of hospitalised/deceased in "10 vor 10" on SRF tonight.
Have missed it. Anything worth sharing here?

Of course, every doctor knows this. And the Czech mod who recently posted the news about the 25k (?) crosses for the dead on a public square in Prague likes this horseshit. So what did all these poor bastards die from?

Seriously, gtfo.

Not just Switzerland, most of Europe. Sweden forever will remain an example of what a waste of time these damaging and draconian and hard lockdowns were.

Not unless you compare them to their neighbouring Scandinavian countries and Finland. Then it remains an example of bad decisions in respect of lockdowns.

Comparing Sweden to Switzerland is like comparing lemons to eggs.

The US is beginning to see the beginning of their fourth wave as they unlock and I expect Europe will experience the same soon.

I've watched it briefly and I think there wasn't anything new or that we didn't already know e.g. we have more cases but less hospitalisations and apparently the British variant is predominat. ICU's are more relaxed now.

Lockdowns worked extremely well in China where they were quickly back to normal.

Sweden is now well into its third wave; some naive people here were forecasting they would not even have a second wave.

Comparing Sweden to Finland and Norway is also like comparing lemons to eggs, which is why it's better to compare to Europe as a whole.

Your idol has feet of clay, Sweden now has the fifth-highest rate of new COVID-19 cases worldwide, if you want to compare to Europe then only two countries out of the EU 27 have a higher rate.

So Sweden with minimal or half-ass measures are world's 5th?

CZ was world's no. 1 not long ago. With crazy strict measures going for months. People got effectively grounded there.

No, again, that simply just doesn't make any sense. Countries like Spain and Italy have tight/close proximity urban communities where entire families live together and socialize regularly. It would have been an absolute disaster if they kept everything open throughout the pandemic in those countries... especially if tourists were allowed to come in and out from all over the world.

The fact that NO and DK have fared so differently indicates to me that comparisons are in general difficult. Likewise PO and CZ.

There's little correlation between culturally similar / neighbouring countries within the European region.

Oomph, with a 7.5% positivity rate. That's the highest in weeks.

Different demographics, different language, different cultures, different levels of urban population, different levels of mortality in recent years for other reasons, different levels of ethnic minorities population et cetera et cetera et cetera

Tons of Moderna coming in the late spring and summer? If there's problems with Moderna heads have to roll in the Swiss authorities as they essentially have a one supplier plan.
