mmmm. money?
Vaccine production is not a great money-spinner. A number of pharma companies have exited the vaccines space due to lack of profits.

Pandemics are no doubt good for business, in the same way as disasters allow insurers to increase premiums. New upstarts such a Moderna seem to be doing OK with vaccines

Drugs to treat cancer are where the money is.

A steady, reliable, never-ending stream of patients willing to pay anything...

Exactly, we kept being told this, but the jump in the Pfizer share price when the vaccine was announced told the story. $20 a shot to be put into millions/billions of people's arms on likely an annual basis. Zero liability, massive government investment for the development, accelerated approval etc. It doesn't get much better than that!

Re: Coronavirus

I got those free 5 home tests yesterday and have tried one of them today. While I was waiting for the result, my son used the red ink pen to draw an extra line on the test It looked quite real and did shock me for a second he said that that he got the idea from his friends but was not aware what they have done this for.

I learn every day. GB has borders with India.

And what does <<India is not currently on the UK's 'red list' of travel destinations.>> mean? GB forbids it's people to go places?
I mean "sorry, foreigner, you can't come in witouth a valid covid test result" is one thing but "oi, my citicen, you can't go there" sounds like DDR?

Given they said that the unprioritized will be done in order of registration, and I did mine within half an hour of registration opening
Interesting. In Zurich the registration date doesn't matter, they open appointments for all people from a certain group or multiple groups.

I just received Pfizer at the main hospital in Malta, next dose in 3 weeks. I registered 5 days ago. My wife will get her second Moderna dose on Monday.
I think AZ is being reserved for the locals
Are you sure you need the second dose?

I am sure I don't, but it does not seem to work like that at the moment, far easier to go with the flow as I will need to travel shortly, hopefully it can wait till after 7th May.

I think you're over-reacting a tad. Weren't various parts of France described as "red zones" for Swiss citizens just recently?

Email from the gym (autotranslate) I guess something similar from other gyms:

Quote:
The wait is finally over!

At the meeting on April 14th, the Federal Council decided to open the fitness centers. From Monday, April 19th, we will be able to offer the overdue training in the ___ at the usual times.

There is a full mask requirement and a minimum distance of 1.5 meters. A maximum of 14 participants are allowed in the group rooms. Registration for the courses is carried out online as usual.

We have credited you for the entire period of 120 days (from December 20th, 2020 to April 18th, 2021), like last year. So you haven't missed a single day.

LOL, yeah, right, the British Empire. How could I forget.

I don't know about the red zones in France, nothing attracted me to go there lately. Are you saying the Swiss divided France in zones not to go to and zones which were okay? (Serious question). I thought that was the French themselves. And the Italians too. *

And yes, I forgot to put the sarcasm emoj again. Do strip me from the legend title and put me back on newbie first-class, that might teach me.

edit: *Yes they did or at least took over the red-zone sections those countries decided on themselves.
