question for those who got their jabs

me and OH got appointment same day, same time next week, thinking if we should bring kids to vaccine center or to leave them with friends
We brought the baby - wasn't an issue.

I read on the website of some vaccination center that people are kindly asked not to bring kids, and if they have absolutely no other options they should contact the center beforehand.

From people I know who've had side effects (Fatigue/fever/generally feeling shite) after the vaccine, the effects start 12-24 hours after the jab. So I don't think bringing the kids is an issue.

I will say after my jab I asked for a lollipop and they informed me they were out of them, so it's not all fun and games for the big kids.

It isn't that ... they try to keep the amount of people in the vaccination centers limited in order to prevent the risk of infection exposure for the staff & people receiving their shots.

Oh come on. If kids are allowed to go in the supermarket and on the train...

And the staff will be all vaccinated by now.

When will we finally see the number of new cases less than 1000 on a weekday?

Are they old enough to wait quietly outside without supervision?

unfortunately no.

I tried looking at BL website and FAQ's page on vaccines and could not find anything.

And Vaccine centre Laufen, BL is a bit odd, have to park car at a place and then take a shuttle.

If you are worried and your partner is also coming one of you could wait outside with them while the other is being vaccinated then swap.

I understand, I just know they are very strict about who can come in. When I was waiting for my husband, they wouldn't even let a son go in that was accompanying his very elderly / slightly senile mother.

There appears to be a new "triple variant" in Britain (Yorkshire to be specific).

Actually on the center in Winterthur they write on the website to this question:
<<Bitte haben Sie Verständnis, das Kinder im Impfzentrum nicht zugelassen sind, um einen ruhigen, reibungslosen und schnellen Impfablauf zu vollziehen.

Sollte es gar nicht möglich sein, dass Sie Ihr Kind in die Obhut eines vertrauten Babysitters geben und Sie es mitbringen müssen, melden Sie sich bitte bei uns per E-Mail an.>>

In short: Not to bring children along. In cases where it's absolutely necessary to get an appointment by email.

Check the website of your center then (I found this under "further questions asked").

That's the spirit, though assuming a bit of queuing (which is minimal at most venues), info/shot/form, 15 minutes post-observation, back and forth to car you may need closer to 1/2 hour for each. The system put our appointments back to back, but they put us through at the same time. Mostly, I don't think the appointment times are more than indicative, even in Swiss mind. Good luck, basel!

For my second jab, I walked out after about 3 minutes & walked to my car about 7 minutes away.

Haha, I do miss CH (not)
Yesterday my wife had a CT scan & they injected some fluid, she was told most reactions happened within 30 minutes but could occur up to a week later. We left with the report about 30 minutes later & she is still alive.

In Winterthur there was a person outside who formed a line of people invited for certain time and another person at the entrance checking your invitation to make sure the time is correct.
