I've had that for several weeks now, I must be carrying the Corona of 2013. And considering all the sneezing in the same time I'm definitely highly contagious.
Bout time you did an update. Your version is very old

Re: Coronavirus

Confirmation that the virus can be spread by people with no symptoms

Quote:
Two cases were identified in San Benito County, where a husband and wife have been diagnosed with the virus. The husband traveled to Wuhan, China, where the virus is believed to have originated, but the wife contracted the disease in the second person-to-person transmission in the U.S., according to a statement from local health officials.

These two patients have remained at home since the husband’s return to the U.S. The man was screened at San Francisco International Airport on Jan. 24 and was found to be healthy without symptoms. Both he and his wife developed symptoms days later.
That makes the virus very hard to contain if spread by people with no symptoms.

I think that's true with most viruses. By the time you experience symptoms of a cold or flu, odds are you've already shared it with someone else. By the time you're actually diagnosed by a health professional and part of the statistics, you've almost certainly exposed others.

It could appear straight from a piece of social satire, unfortunately that's reality for some...

Exactly.
The incubation period for the common cold is about 3 days. With this thing it's up to 14 days. That's not good. It's a long time walking around feeling just fine whilst having no idea that you're spreading the virus.

My pharmacy gave me "sinus deblocking" pepper spray. Yes, it's got black pepper oil as the active agent. It stings like hell but does deblock the sinuses.

Ahh mine doesn't unblock .. It's like a disinfectant / virus killing spray..

Spray up the nose a few time daily and it kills virus up there and in the throat etc.

Probably doesn't work but i like how it feels.

What? You don't want pepper spray up your nose to kill a virus?

I haven't seen it here, tbh. Just Nasivine and saline water nasal washes of sorts. How about a lot of Vit C? Helps me, fends off the virus. 2g a day.

Re: Coronavirus

Is it time to be seriously concerned? Some of the pictures and videos I’ve seen from various social media platforms suggest that the virus could be far more wide spread than the Chinese authorities are saying so. On the one hand it’s hard to judge what is genuine and on the other it is hard to trust the Chinese state.

Given the number of supposed infections is relatively low (25,000 in a country of 1,5 billion), yet the way the Chinese have reacted suggested they see this as a much bigger threat. In the age of misinformation, it’s hard to judge what to make of it all!

If this is the case, it just makes the virus even less potent. The death:infections ratio is currently at less than 2% (560 vs. 28k+ ) and as it's easier to hide infections and less easy to hide deaths hence I am even less worried and I wasn't worried to begin with.

p.s. btw, you know why zerohedge is useless and misleading right?

In China it is easy to hide everything.

Look at the incredible grip on media and given the scale of this how little is leaking out. Thing is that the numbers are correct in a way since it only reflects confirmed cases and not how many people have the disease or have been killed by it. Thus if you send home a lot of people and skip a whole bunch of autopsies you keep control of the number of confirmed cases. That in the meanwhile you tell people to burn their dead family members and barricade people in their homes with big steel bars to die keeps them out of the confirmed stats. We simply do not know how many people actually have it, or how many died. Due to the lack of testing not even China knows it. If this thing would start to run wild in a country like India than we know how many in could kill in a country with almost a total lack of a medical and governmental infrastructure to deal with such.

China simply cannot be trusted with these things, Sars has shown this and Corona shows it again. And this is exactly the reason why China should not have a Biocontainment level-4 lab, these things only can work in an environment where people can be open about mistakes, where they can be discussed and where people can learn from them. China has none of that. Better to point at a random food market without actual proof and have millions of Chinese continue travelling while remaining silent towards the rest of the world.
