The big mistake Switzerland has done with their vaccination strategy is not to give a clear benefit to those who take the vaccine.
I thought they just did actually (26 June new rules). The bars/discos require a certificate, ditto for certain large gatherings, events, etc.

I think it's good timing, they could only do this once everyone has been offered the vaccine which is right about now.

I was looking at it because I probably can't get the certificate with one jab and also for the teens in the house. For me it's no big deal for those things, but I am sitting on the fence as it definitely will curtail social aspects for the younger generation and acts as an incentive to get vaccinated.

You can get the certificate with just one jab if you have proof of having had Covid already.

Some people think not dying or not being very ill is a clear benefit.
But it's not the government that is making people ill or killing them.

The question was, what is the government doing to make it attractive?

Thanks but that's the problem, I apparently had it and didn't know. And I fall through the certificate cracks. Reading the fine print on the VD website requires that you've had it within 6 months and had PCR to prove it. I have neither. I might go through the bother of asking via the hotline and haggling for it, but for the current freedoms on offer I decided I won't bother, not worth it.

Does this mean Denmark under-ordered?

I would have thought we are now entering the phase where supply is outstripping demand and anybody with any sense is dumping their excess before the price slumps further, knowing that if demand picks up again there is still a glut of unsold vaccine on the market that they can buy for a song.

Which makes me wonder what the Danes know that we don't.

How do you know you had it if you weren't tested?

Had a very severe reaction to the first jab and then went to my Dr. because of it. He did an antibody test that proved I had it as well as sky high antibody levels, thus it was decided no second jab, could even be dangerous he said.

Then the case should be clear, I should think.

You need to talk to your Dr.

Yes, clear for me, but not necessarily for the authorities.

I don't think any country has come out and said free pass if you have antibodies, as there is not yet enough scientific studies backing this up and to what level of antibodies everyone agrees to.

Re: Coronavirus

US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Rochelle Walensky said today that fully vaccinated people are "safe" from the current variants and do not need to wear masks [in the US].
Walensky said that the CDC's guidance has not changed

She responded to the WHO by saying they are dealing with a worldwide situation where far fewer people are vaccinated than in the United States, given global vaccine disparities, and are therefore issuing more cautious advice.

My friend is in similar situation. She works in healthcare and had coronavirus w/o symptoms and didn't know it. She's discovered it because her family participates in antibodies study. But her request to have just one dose based on antibodies was rejected in Kt ZH. They need to see a positive test in the past (AFAIK, antigen also counts in this case).

I think they decided to stop using adenovirus vaccines at a very early point in time (something like March). Probably they don't have enough mRNA vaccines for the whole population.

I had COVID too and they told me I can't have a jab until it is expired (minimum 6 months from date of recovery).

So it seems the rules are not being applied equally.

They over-ordered and sell the surplus before expiring. Lesson learned, since they over-ordered AZ too and had to destroy 30k expired doses after fear mongering campaigns. mRNA vaccines are still in the highest demand, followed by Johnson&Johnson. Don't forget people have options. Can choose.

The vaccination will continue, thought less and less people want to be vaccinated.

I expect that when the winter comes, cases will rise again and more people will be asking to be vaccinated. Which is just as well as they will be more at risk too.

I don't think the regular Dr's can issue it, rather it's done through the canton authorities. Plus, it's more complicated by the fact I reside in a different canton than where my Dr practices.

In VD they specifically say antigen doesn't count, citing the need for equivalence with the EU regulation on certificates that excludes it. I would think it would have to be applied the same by all the cantons then.

The federation has said that only PCR tests are valid as proof of infection so it should be the same across all cantons. Having said that the Neuchâtel site still says an antigen test is also valid.
