The stick is always more effective than the carrot. How about requiring certificats at all shops, bars and restaurants. And give those medically unable to be vaccinated an equivalent certificate.
As much as I support vaccination - hell no.

Didn't you also suggest to keep the mask mandate in place after this is over?

We live in such an amazing times. Can someone prove here that our civilisation hasn't reached the ....end ?

So can you imagine.. all up to now, previous generationis, our fathers,mothers,grandparents... Lived their lives, going around the world in times when hygiene was very poor comparing to now, without any nappies ,cloths on their mouths.. travelling to africa, asia, on a boat, for months, meeting typhus, diphtheria, all kinds of germs, viruses.. our grand-fathers were fighting in a war for months ,years living in a poor conditions, carrying their ill from tuberculosis friend, or many of them since many had tuberculosiss at teh time , they were coughing, spitting .. no one obstructed their breathing or vice versa nor farting was seen as a glorious brave move to save the humanity

Let's repeat: a person that's healthy no signs of illness like fever, coughing,... does not have a viral charge and then through sneezing ,coughing can release droplets, particles in the air that might be viral ...

In case, there is really an ill person, with a fever , high temperature they're probably not really apt to go around and travel or shop,snack,walk,run... since we know how that's almost impossible... And still we believe how they'll be sneezing and coughing , then in case they do, the particles will be spread(in spite of their cloth on the mouth) in the air and your cloth on your mouth/nose is not going to protect you.

Because, germs, viruses , arent going into your mouth and you're not getting infected by inhaling the virus. The way we get infections is through the clear, watery fluid called aqueous humor.
This is why any viral infection (common cold, flu like flu, flu) always starts with dry itchy eyes and as the infection progresses goes near the nose ,runny nose starts, then sore throat then might go down to the air lungs. When some doctors upset by the nonsense told by guys like Fauci , they confronted him about the ridiculous claim to wear a cloth on the mouth, he then , changed his discours and if you remember , he even made speeches of how wearing goggles is recommended (!) he went on to say how 2masks are needed (why not 3,4) while we are it, but if a grown up adult cant see how there's just so much of junk told to all of us then it's insane.

Tomorrow definitely people will start stabbing each other because the nappy fell of someone's mouth .
You can probably find out " that our civilisation hasn't reached the ....end" from your Tarot cards

SZ is done, it seems. 20 new appointments for vaccination requested per day now. At 43% with at least one dose.

Weíre Iím the middle of the summer . Itís the time of year that viruses naturally donít spread as easily . This will in part explain why new cases are down so much all across most of the northern hemisphere , even in the countries that arenít vaccinating very well.
Seeing the cover there vaccines give you apparently expires after 6 months , maybe people are saying letís wait until say October so the jab will see us through the entire winter ?
Officially here in Switzerland the vaccine immunity lasts a year

Indeed, this was expected with the surveys some months ago. About 50-60% of population vaccinated. There's no point in keeping the masks and travel restrictions after vaccination ends.

Frankly, I didn't expect to stop at 45%. OK, the Swiss average will turn out higher, but even there I doubt we reach 60%.

I've met a few people living in Kanton Schwyz who are scared of getting the vaccine.

One seemed terrified and was convinced that she'd be some sort zombie the day after the vaccine. She wasn't the smartest cookie in the tin but still....

She did have the vaccine in the end and I'm not sure whether she became a zombie as that vacant look she had in her eyes was there long before the had the jab.

Go Schwyz!

I'd say it will comfortably get past 60%

https://www.covid19.admin.ch/en/epid...gic/vacc-doses

The graph shows that the uptake is starting to level, but if everybody who's had one shot gets the second we'll be at 54%, then another 10-15% doesn't seem that impossible.
I know people in my office are booked to receive their first jabs next month. So even with a slower uptake we should be ok, I hope.

So, yes, they need an incentive - like giving a child a sugar-coated pill.

How about a free lollipop after every vaccination?
There are some of these people who think Bill Gates is the head of a world conspiracy but they are also some convincible waiverers. One person at work says she isn't sure and is waiting "just in case".

The hardcore antivaxxer is rarer than we imagine.

SVP Volk in SZ might still turn out when they realise delta is here. A lot of the vaccine hesitant (largely Indian subcontinent in origin) people in bits of the uk turned out late when there area was hit hard.

Re: Coronavirus

84% of people 16 or over in Scotland have received their first vaccine dose.
60% of people 16 or over in Scotland are double vaxxed.

Yesterday Scotland recorded their greatest number of daily cases since the pandemic began.

And there are still crazies who want to force people into getting vaccines because they believe this can be stopped if "just enough people get the vaccine"

Which is actually a pretty good vaccine, but in the west politics say no.

So much for following the science.

The vaccine doesn't prevent people from getting the virus (or spreading it). It can, however, help prevent someone from becoming very ill or dying if or when they do get the virus.

Covid in Scotland: New cases pass 3,000 to reach new record high
https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-scotland-57638936

"A total of 12.6% of those tested for the virus were positive. No deaths were recorded, although registration offices are generally closed over the weekend.

The previous highest number was the 2,999 cases reported last Thursday.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said the "steep rise" in cases showed that people should be "really careful".

But she said there was "positive news" from the vaccine programme, which she said was preventing a similar rise in the number of people in hospital or losing their lives.

If the vaccine doesn't stop people getting the virus or spreading it, what does that mean for herd immunity?

If it is true, it would also make a mockery of relaxation of mask rules etc because what would prevent the virus from spreading if not people's own immunity?

This is the point, if people are concerned then they can get the vaccine themselves, no need to worry whether others are getting it.
