That certainly shows the vaccine offers some level of protection .

But it’s still far from the 95% decrease in mortality that is being suggested
The starting point of the above numbers is confirmed cases. If having the vaccine reduces the chance of contracting the virus to 14% of the unvaccinated case, the protection would then be 95% based on the above figures.

84% of people 16 or over in Scotland have received their first vaccine dose.
60% of people 16 or over in Scotland are double vaxxed.

Yesterday Scotland recorded the greatest number of daily cases since the pandemic began.

And there are still crazies who want to force people into getting vaccines because they believe this can be stopped if "just enough people get the vaccine"
Looks boring, the peak needs to be at least CH, England or Czechia levels in cases per 100K people to get a headline. Or could it be that greatest is a useless word when things can be quantified with numbers?

I did not send you any PMs last week. Or to marton either.

If you are falling to having to telling outright lies on other forum members it just shows how far you are gone.
Yes you did. I've gone as far as you and your chums have gone but I can go further if you want and your last antagonist post seems to suggest you want do want it.

If you, MC, Fduvall, FMF, MFG, Tony Clifton, Codpeace (not sure of his new forum name), V_ want this forum to become some far-right, neo-fascist, Christian-evangelical, conspiracy theory sound board then apart from about five people, there's really no one else to stop you as they've all left.

You have the support of most of the mods too apparently.

So, carry on but post any more lies and slander and you'll get the same in return.

I may be far gone but it will never be as far as you.

It would be interesting to see that mapped against vaccination rates.

The previous massive peaks occurred at massively lower vaccination rates.

I meant to write "their" greatest, as in the highest number ever recorded in Scotland. I'll go back and change it now.

And where are the abusive PMs that you said I wrote?

And where's the name calling on anti-vaxers?

Would you like to hear who posted abuse about my kids? Everyone's favourite poster?

Which is actually a pretty good vaccine, but in the west politics say no.

So much for following the science.
On 18 March 2021, German regional leaders including State Premiers and the mayor of Berlin called for the swift approval of the Russian vaccine that is under review by the European Medicines Agency to counteract the acute shortages of effective vaccines in Europe.
German medical experts have recommended its approval also, and consider the Sputnik Vaccine "clever" and "highly safe".

Slovakia and Hungary have at least emergency approval for Sputnik V.

I don't. The last member PM I sent was to you a couple of weeks ago!

I try not do PMs so I can't get accused of sending abusive ones and that is what Amogles has accused me of doing.

Indeed, the time series of vaccines accounting for the 2 weeks that supposedly are needed for the 2nd dose to give full protection would add a lot of context.

Also, Scotland's vaccination plan relied on 2/3 of AZ vaccines and the rest Pfizer. If vaccination is not working on the real world, it's worth to review the AZ efficacy on the new variants. Thanks for calling attention to the issue.

Already been done, both vaccines are effective against hospitalizations (not sure if there's anything on transmission though). People who are concerned can get the vaccine and leave those that don't want to get it alone.

Your original post was about cases, therefore efficacy against transmission matters. By looking at data until today, it's tempting to says vaccines don't reduce transmission. But.....this is a question people with better judgment and data should answer.

Changing to hospitalization and deaths, the vaccines efficacy against them looks great. From this perspective, if people never gets hospitalized (meaning less worrying symptoms), are number of cases that relevant?

Is it crazy to motivate people telling them: hey, if you get the vaccine the hospitalization risk goes down at least 90%?
