Data allowance and storage space have no link. Data allowance is how much you can download/upload to your phone without wifi (this is part of your mobile plan). Storage is how much stuff your phone can physically hold (nothing to do with your phone contract).
Thank you for explaining that! My smartphone is so smart that I can barely understand it.

I love the bikes everywhere though.

Speaking of foreign countries, Eastern European Front News - In CZ the R number was just 1.43 and is increasing..Hospitalisations are low.
Same here, from 0.69 (median) to 1.57 by June 30, i.e. in just two weeks, according to the ETHZ people. Down to 1.47 per Juli 2, the most recent day the model can make a statement on.

One major problem is, a UK study on 500k cases from January and February found some 6% long covid cases (defined as, at least one symptom in week 12 or later) among the symptomatic cases. If that's the same for Delta we're in for big consequences despite the vaccinations, and we won't know it until long after the fact.

Here's the data on cases, hospitalisations and deaths in CH since June 28, according to Tagesanzeiger (paywall):

Are cases a concern now?
Everyone vulnerable has been vaccinated, the tail end are young, fit and healthy, which is clearly backed up by the hospitalisations, length of stay, ICU and numbers of deaths.
Anyone not vaccinated needs to remain vigilant, if they’re concerned about the virus, as does anyone at risk, vaccinated or not.
Delta seems unstoppable in any case.
Not so benign for the young as you claim.
Seven Mississippi children are currently in the hospital due to COVID-19 infections, with two of the young people on life support, the state’s top health official announced Tuesday.

Mississippi State Health Officer Thomas Dobbs said in a tweet that seven children infected with the virus were in the intensive care unit (ICU) and two of them were on ventilators.

Without knowing their previous risk factors (obese/respiratory disease/etc), it’s irrelevant. Most likely they’d fall into the vulnerable category and their parents should have taken more care of them, but obviously we will never know, as that information is either not released or doesn’t fit the narrative.

It could also be that personal information on the children would breach patient confidentiality.

Sadly Mississippi is notable for its poor health and obesity even by the standards of the Deep South.

Really the place that could without being bottom of the vaccination table.

Mississippi 33.5% fully vaccinated, turkeys voting for Christmas.

At least some conservative news outlets are now supporting vaccination "Newsmax issues statement in favor of vaccines after host says they're 'against nature'"

Having a host on live TV do anti-vax propaganda and then issue a lukewarm statement (that no one is going to read or remember) afterwards is not what I call "supporting vaccination".

Re: Coronavirus

Unfortunately, the optimism generated by reducing restrictions seems to have been misplaced.

For example, "The Netherlands is reimposing work-from-home guidelines as coronavirus infections soar in the country.

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte announced the new restrictions to Parliament on Wednesday after infections rose to more than 10,000 new cases on the same day, Reuters reported.

Members of Parliament were recalled from their summer vacation due to the new spike in coronavirus cases, which came just over two weeks after most coronavirus restrictions were lifted."

I had hoped we would see the summer through and also part of the autumn before restrictions started rising again.

I appreciate it's a bit terrible but a large chunk of me wants the wave to hit us hard and quick so it's all over. We can't be more than a fortnight or so away from everyone being able to be vaccinated who applied in a reasonable timescale. A decent wave would probably get the last of the "hesitant" in for vaccination.

I'm honestly not fussed about long Covid if the person in question hasn't bothered to get a vaccine. Their problem.

I hear you, and agree for adults. Children and youth, different. Now someone will be coming and tell me kids cannot get Long Covid - which is not true according to a good number of pediatricians.

Honestly not a good enough reason to reimpose restrictions (especially given kids over 12 can get the vaccine).

Restrictions must be for emergency situations. This isn't an emergency anymore. There is a risk of extensive mission creep.

It'll be months before 2-11s can be done. Our little one (21 months) may be one of the littlest in line by then. Turnout will be poor anyway.
