Reading through the last few pages of this thread, it appears there's more than a few people who would benefit from watching 'Horizon Special: The Vaccine'. It's currently on BBC iplayer for those who can access that, but I expect it to be on youtube pretty soon. It's a very, very informative programme, following the development of 5 of the vaccines, one of which failed (the Queensland vaccine).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6mTAJ08aUI
Before I watch, I need to know whose bias it is going to confirm

Young healthy anti-vaxx nurse passed from Covid recently ...

https://scrubsmag.com/olivia-guidry-...-for-covid-19/

David Begnaud (@DavidBegnaud) Tweeted:
Louisiana’s State Health Officer said today: the 24yo nurse (Olivia Guidry) from Lafayette, LA. did in fact die of Covid at the hospital where she worked, @LafGeneral. Olivia, had over the past year, tweeted anti vax misinformation.
She was buried today.
https://t.co/lqIC7RF8Hu

https://www.reddit.com/r/LeopardsAte...tm_name=iossmf

Very rare, but very sad.
Hogwash. Seems you didn’t read the article.

Quote:
Hospital CEO Al Patin issued a statement following her death: “Many reports have stated that Olivia died due to complications from COVID-19. However, the cause of her untimely death is unclear at this time and will be determined by an autopsy, with results not expected for several days. The appropriate officials have been made aware of her case.”
And the Louisiana State Health Officer on CNN is full of shit. Could not confirm that any of those that died had not been vaccinated.

Lastly, rather tasteless of you to link to a subreddit where people celebrate the misfortune of others.

Just like some of us , could've flooded this topic with links and numbers of vaccine injuries and death for the last 6-mths and it's pretty disturbing.

If that was a joke, a joke about my health condition isn't funny.
You were the one who started making statements about your health to score a political point.

And now you act in faux outrage when I point out that it's funny.

So you claim to know every law and to be sure you have never broken one of them inadvertently?

Some claim to make.

And seeing this is the best criticism you can come up with of my earlier point, I guess that means my point stands.
Please stop putting words in my mouth in a futile attempt to prove your point.

I objected to your fact-free sweeping statement that everybody has broken the law. From my personal experience I can point to people who have never broken the law; The Pope, Queen of England, and Trump.

Re: Coronavirus

I can understand some members here like Susie,Panckaes, marton etc. who are worried, have some health issues and they're easily scared so they believe what they've been told, ...

but people like TinyK who probably knows things much better and can reason without emotions that's just so shocking to me.

If you're someone who is in a lab or have some knowledge(you obvously do) where does this urge and pleasure to spread fear is coming from , I'm so curious ) ?

And this funny Delta variant talk and Lambda now )) yeah sure.. for ex. we have sars cov2 for a whole year , wuhan, europe, usa ,australia.. no mutation no variants .. we start vaccinating , "oh it's the Delta " "vaxxx 3 times , so Delta variant is covered" )) "vaxx with a MIX of pfizer and moderna or AZ , the cocktail is real good" ! ))

I wasnt laughing when I typed this but it's true once you type this it's just like a sketch in a film.

So imagine a world, where people who understand medecine, .. viruses , antibiotics , would be here on this topic and say "hey guys, no worries , even if you get sars cov2 , 99% survival rate and even more!"
" no hospitals arent oversaturated they're just reducing the capacities (in france 9k beds deleted in the year 2020-2021) and many hospitals are doing tik-tok dances , all good . No need to worry!

In the pademic in 2009-2010 it was the same scare and vaccines came on time , tamiflu as well (which was proven very toxic) but nevermind ...

The point is, no significant deaths from h1n1 just like sars cov2 and even with sars cov2 you dont die from the virus himself, but from possible respiratory complications that lead to bacterial infection (therefore azithromycin or another AB should be administred if the patient is suffering few weeks of heavy coughing, fever)

It's a big, hefty dollop of facts!

It's mostly made up of interviews with the vaccine developers themselves and following them around their work in the lab, rather than being in the 3rd person. Gives a huge insight into each of the 5 vaccines and how they work (which I found fascinating), the highs and lows of the trials, and the reasons behind funding being withdrawn from the Queensland vaccine.

That is an uneducated statement.

https://www.economist.com/briefing/2...g-the-pandemic

"But the excess-mortality method has failed to provide useful or robust global figures for the simple reason that most countries, and in particular most poor countries, do not provide excess-mortality statistics in a timely fashion. Global estimates have used the official numbers, despite knowing that the figure—currently 3.3m—surely falls well short of the true total.

To try to put numbers on how much of an underestimate it is—and thus on how great the true burden has been—The Economist has attempted to model the level of excess mortality over the course of the pandemic in countries that do not report it. This work gives a 95% probability that the death toll to date is between 7.1m and 12.7m, with a central estimate of 10.2m. The official numbers represent, at best, a bit less than half the true toll, and at worst only about a quarter of it."

Nobody should be scared of facts, I am certainly not.

The people who are really scared of facts are the ones that pretend the facts do not exist, or were manipulated or do not represent reality.

BTW, in 2009-2010 vaccines did not come on time - they came in October 2009 in extremely short quantities.

I think you'll actually find that the point is that quite often, it's not an actual virus that kills but symptoms caused by the virus.

The 50 million deal Spanish flu deaths were mainly down to bacterial pneumonia which occurred due to a weakened respiratory system caused by the virus.

komso, As an educated person dont be so gullible and such an easy catch

The article itself it says "Modelling covid-19’s death toll" And it's beautiful because they tell you how there (probably) are deaths due to covid in sub-saharan africa and papua new guinea and yes pleaaase , be scared be scared )

In reality what happens, even for developed countries it takes 1year - 2years to establish the numbers of(deaths) and do the right stats. So when I read here how everyday people are doing a copy-paste with some numbers (deaths, contaminations) I feel like crying if you call the service who gives those numbers they will refer you to another and another and then, ... if you insist , they will tell you how the numbers are anyhow estimations based on some math modelling. That same Ferguson - Drosten schema.

And it's frightening because it's based on nothing yet we give them the credibility the authority but they never never allow the possibility to be challenged (by scientists).

We've entered some dictature a la Chinese social-authoritarian system and I dont even know if there's a way out.
