Now correct me if I'm wrong, but the BBC is considered a 'health facility' ?

It is critical for my mental health.

Income yes, likely not the full salary but you'll keep the home, have food and can pay the normal bills which is tbh enough for now.

Where would you put the people in the hotels now? It is more of "keep a roof over people's heads" statement rather than "hey everyone, go for a vacation".

Re: Coronavirus

The leaders talking about local daily activities to be restricted, they claim that since january, their best interest has been to protect the population. But the airport in Zurich seems to continue business as usual... they haven't connected the dots about how this virus spreads? How slow is this people, seems like a stone in the middle of the road would be able to listen more.

I would not expect that hotel guests, most away from home, will be thrown out on street with nowhere to go and borders/flights closed. So makes sense.

I just want to understand “lockdown”.

You can go to the grocery, to the doctor, and I assume the dentist.

You can go outside for a walk and walk your dog?

It states 2,200 cases but that is the same number as midday yesterday?
https://www.bag.admin.ch/ site is not updated either since midday yesterday.

So far as I understand there is no ban on leaving home?

Well I was at the airport Tuesday evening and it was deserted and about 30% of departures were cancelled. I didn't fly but my GF did and she was through security in 2 mins.

You have people working there who are exposed daily to others who have likely been travelling throughout Europe...

Seems to defeat the purpose of a lockdown.

I also would like to understand what "lockdown" here means exactly (I wasn't able to understand the recent conference). I understand that grocery stores and pharmacies will remain open, but that's all I know. I'm going to cancel my dentist appointment for next month since it was just a cleaning anyways.
I really hope that it will still be considered okay for people to go out for bike rides, kids to play outside, etc.

My local coop was completely out of fresh produce this morning---baked everything else looked normal (although I didn't do an inventory, just got my energy drink and gipfelli and left).

I'm not too concerned, we're stocked up on the essentials enough to last at least a month if not longer.
yes coop fresh vegs was empty. inexcusable!!
