Sorry. This is getting difficult. I have seen nothing requiring me to stay at home. I see everything about which shops will be closed but nothing about not going outside. A specific link rather than a link to the front page of a newspaper would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
You can very well go out.

For example:
Quote:

There is nothing requiring you to stay at home but it is recommended to limit social contact wherever possible.

Are you in one of the at risk categories or over 65? It is a strong recommendation for these people to stay at home and isolate themselves as they risk more serious complications should they contract the virus.
It is not however an obligation.

Not sure why my other post merited a groan, I essentially said exactly the same thing.

My age or medical conditions, or those of my OH- makes absolutely NO DIFFERENCE to going out for a walk in the woods, dog or no dog - the key is to isolate and limit contact. Woods, or no woods, dog or no dog.

The Federal Office of Public Health announced a new press conference for tomorrow 12:00

Topic of announcement: "In fact you can go for a walk with your dog in the woods if you don't understand the reasons why the vulnerable need to stay at home"

which is why I re-read your post and removed my 'groan'- and yes, it depends where you live, and not your age or medical conditions.

why oh why? Why can't I take the dog out to the woods where I won't meet anyone? Where on earth it the logic or rationale of that?
Noth should post some facts-a link to where it says that. Seems he's making it up as he goes!! So much dis-information

Well, if you read what you initially posted (see what I quoted in post #3660), you did. Sounded quite snarky TBH.

But, after you added that last sentence I removed my groan. Still sounds a bit snarky but whatever.

Just a quick question, my apologies if its been answered somewhere else.
We are currently abroad until next week, must we return to Switzerland immediately or can we keep to our original plans?
Thanks.
You "must" nothing. You are advised to come home.

Quote:
The last sentence makes no sense at all. Give me one reason why walking the dog in the field and the woods behind me will have any negative effect on my health or anyone else?
That last sentence is from V, not from Berset.
And depending on your illness (other one you might have) it was actually said on the radio, that people should take little strolls, not in the city at rush hours, of course. And if you can't take scrolls you better make sure you get some minimal exercise at home or ....

Well, one thing with those press conferences; I sure get to practice my French these days. The Romandes should stop complaining being neglected.
The poor Ticinese - those who only speak Italian - don't have clue what's being said. Maybe that's why they have the most cases?
I did look for a button that would give me a translator but it seems only later they give translated versions on youtube. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm fine with how they handle this. There are laws to be considered - for example the compulsory education law had to be suspended before parents had a right to keep their children at home. Berset said that clearly in the last press conference already and even in German: "Die allgemeine Schulpflicht ist ausgesetzt" - which meant, the schools can be closed which it seems the cantons did one by one as they thought best. Up to the point when it was decided they should all close and how long for.

The only thing grating on my nerves is Sommaruga who keeps saying "we won't leave you alone with this". As if she were the owner of the country, the Mami of the nation and we're lucky she'll take care of us. Fact is, she's one of us, given a job to organize things. In general and in times of crisis. If she "leaves us alone" we'll give the job to someone else. Simple.
Why do I feel she sounds like Merkel these days?

Maybe you should make an own thread on this. Because you are not the only person in Switzerland facing it, and maybe one of those in the EF space that is informative. Trust you completely tbh.

Re: Coronavirus

Just a thought and it could be far fetched, but it would be great if people who have made it through the infection (and have been tested) could somehow identify themselves e.g. a badge, official certification etc..

That way as the immunised herd grows these hardy individuals could start to re-enter normal life and get things moving.
