Just a thought and it could be far fetched, but it would be great if people who have made it through the infection (and have been tested) could somehow identify themselves e.g. a badge, official certification etc..

That way as the immunised herd grows these hardy individuals could start to re-enter normal life and get things moving.
Kinda like the opposite of a yellow star, to signify they can't infect the rest of society with their contagion...?

We'd be like lepers till science has a conclusive opinion on immunity how much anti-bodies and how long do they last, remaining viruses and all such after the symptoms have worn of.

Re: Coronavirus

Was anyone else out there hoping for more of a lockdown?

Does still having to go to work during an infectious disease pandemic really do any good?

There are cases in China, patients recovered, tested negative, released back home, and after a while tested positive again, although it's rare.

Apparently Canada has closed its border except to legal residents. Not sure what this means to non-resident citizens.

What I heard at the presser was that the borders are still open for the the following:

Canadian citizens
permanent residents of Canada
US citizens
a number of exceptions like diplomatic personnel, transport crews etc.

Goddamit, so there might not be long lasting immunity and my idea is a dud. Vaccine is definitely the best way to go.

BUT WHY DO I HAVE TO STAY AT HOME ??? This is absolute nonsense. Keep away from people - yes- stay indoors- nonsense. The woods are perfectly safe.
What if you meet another dog, they play together, and one dog infects the other, and then it licks you later. That is a potential risk. We have no idea what wildlife might transmit the virus either at this stage. Just get someone to walk the dog for you. Stop making yourself an exception every time a measure is announced.

and @Kally, everyone was throwing the word lockdown, when we're not in a lockdown, nor a quarantine. But strongly advised to stay home. This weekend proved most people don't care. The Federal Council can now rule by decree, so expect further tightening including curfews, marshal law etc. But we're not there as of today. Thus caps. And I'll criticize this gov till they provide the data transparently to us, like a normal democracy should do, down to the town if not borough. If you think that's exagerated and unnecessary, then you don't understand the risk we lives with right now.

Re: Coronavirus

How should people who are prone to anxiety or depression deal with this situation? I worry about loneliness and my finances, which have been affected directly by the virus.

Firstly it's been proven that dogs can't carry and transmit the virus, WHO made a statement about it. Secondly, how would that even help if they could... dog still comes home and licks owner

Why does that not really surprise me?

ah, btw. there is a data protection act as well. Very strongly applied on privacy of health issues. Only to be discussed amongst the doctors part in the treatment. Not even insurances - which pay - get the details. Just saying.

The two class system: The office-stallions stay home. The first ones who will complain about the trash not being picked up, the numerous parcels not delivered, the electricity not working, the water not running, the heating not fixed when down, the oil-tanks not filled when empty, the food not available ..... is there a limit to length of posts here? Or should I go on?

Oh there was a tiny fun factor a few days ago: After years of "get the cars off the streets", "individual traffic must be limited" etc. etc. the first thing they said: "Avoid public transport". And after years of "public transport must be extended, at all cost or better at the cost of car-drivers" they told us today, that they will offer less trains than normally.

Refuges are being inundated with abandonned pets last few days because of this kind of nonsense
