Protecting those who are now essential workers.

Yesterday I used cash buying a chicken from the chicken van. When I got home, I sprayed the change I was given in notes and coins with disinfectant and then washed my hands.
Shop owners of food stores that are still opened in Czech Rep. have been paying 200% salary to their staff.

Everything is shut, though. Pretty much. Government have just allowed all the fabric stores open throughout the last night, for population to sew their masks. The number of communities that ban movement even out of your house without your mouth+nose covered is growing rapidly. Anything to stop the virus shedding.

SRF News: Coop doesn't want cash payments anymore.

The virus can live on and be transmitted on cash and notes. Cards from now on. Well, covid-19 is helping the move to a cashless society...

Contactless and under CHF 40. Unfortunately that means you have to go shopping that bit more....

Gives a similar looking result to the one in the Tagi a few days back. Except CH has proportionately rather more intensive care beds.

Austrian (AUA) will stop flying alltogether Wednesday.

Considering Switzerland is trailing Austria's rather decent response by a few days, I can see the last Swiss flight happening on Friday.

It won't make much difference to the overall outcome though.
5x the number of beds is not much help when there is 200x the demand.
If anyone gets ill, it will be down to luck if they get ICU care if they need it, no matter where they are in the world.

I daresay that the mentality of 'We have the best health care system in the world, we'll be reet.' is going to be smashed, regardles if it's CH, Japan, UK, Norway or whereever.

Actually it's enough to make a big difference IF the current measures produce the desired result. Again, look at the study reported in the Tagi. Going to be close but now has a decent shot at just about coping here.

Supermarkets in Britain are ramping up contingency plans to help tackle demand from shoppers for essential provisions, with more sections of the population – including vulnerable and elderly people – preparing for self-isolation during the coronavirus outbreak.

The discounter Aldi (UK) has become the first supermarket to introduce across-the-board rationing, which means customers can buy no more than four of any single grocery line when they visit a store.

Hopefully they will introduce this here too. I was at Aldi yesterday and people were hauling 24x cartons of UHT milk and clearing the shelves of pasta faster than the weary staff could fill them.

Commercial decision of the airline rather than the government. But I can see most European airlines following.

I don't think you are being overly dramatic to be honest.
When every country has decided to sacrifice their economy for a year, to a lesser or greater extent, then it's time to prick up your ears.

I would not expect that hotel guests, most away from home, will be thrown out on street with nowhere to go and borders/flights closed. So makes sense.
The hotel where my wife works is still serving a breakfast buffet for up to 50 people!
Doesn't make sense to me.

Panic buying will ease once we get used to the new normal. Migros' clothing line may get a new customer in me.
