Numbers Italy are insane again.

627 deaths and 5.986 new cases.

Good thing is however that they also finally start to show more serious numbers for persons considered cured, 5,129 now in total.

Switzerland has for today 13 deaths, 56 total and 1.143 new cases.
Ummm, where are you getting your information from .
We have 51 deaths apparently, Italy has 4032:

Just back from a walk in the forest. Good news for temporary workers and apprentices:

The right to compensation in the event of a reduction in work (kursarbeit, RHT) will be extended to temporary workers and for people in an apprenticeship, so that companies will not have to let their apprentices go.

Our FdM is on a permanent contract @ 20%. Does this qualify.

I’m feeling a little guilty asking this but, ...

"The Swiss are escaping general lockdown. However, the Federal Council decided on Friday to tighten the measures: gatherings of more than five people are prohibited. These groups are liable to a fine. 32 billion more will be made available for the economy.

The ban applies to public spaces, i.e. public squares, promenades and parks. The social distance of at least two metres must be respected for groups of less than five people. The police can amend offenders.

The Federal Council urges the population to stay at home, especially vulnerable people. Only outings to go to work, do shopping, go to the doctor or help someone are allowed.

Workers better protected

The construction and industrial sectors are obliged to comply with the recommendations on hygiene and social remoteness. Employers must limit the number of people on construction sites. Companies that cannot implement the hygiene rules will have to close down.

Non-emergency operations are also prohibited in hospitals. Postal services will be allowed to deliver food and daily consumer goods ordered online seven days a week.

The purpose of these measures is to prevent hospitals from becoming overloaded with seriously ill patients. The Federal Council wants to avoid a more drastic step.

Civil defence

In addition, a civil defence contingent will be made available to the cantons to assist them in their fight against the coronavirus. In particular, they will be able to assist in setting up and running hospital reception facilities or public emergency numbers, as well as in caring for the elderly by distributing meals or providing transport.

The service is limited to the end of June 2020. The cantons remain responsible for deciding on concrete mandates, for calling in persons under operational obligation and for the execution of interventions.

The Confederation will compensate the cantons with a lump sum of CHF 27.50 per day of service. The total cost of the operation should therefore not exceed CHF 23.4 million."

I live on the outskirts of Zürich and there are hundreds of these idiot joggers on the Limmat at Werd Insel. All splutteing and panting and blowing their virus out at the people walking by. I go to Werd Insel open field to sit and enjoy the sun . Not a person around me for 30 metres. ( and I dont find this to be irresponsible ).But these joggers and the people collecting in groups is something else.

The 627 deaths was only from today for Italy.

https://interactif.tdg.ch/2020/covid-19-carte-suisse/
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

As for papers, almost as much different numbers as there are papers, and for some days it seems Swiss government is pushing out silent updates in between the press releases.

Difference in case numbers on those two sites is due to diff in method of counting. worldometer does count confirmed cases in total in despite of Swiss government who only counts current active cases and not the dead/cured ones.

Re: Coronavirus

I have a family member in the hospital up there and apparently nurses are not using any type of masks...........

And in the meantime after-ski is still in full swing in the ski resorts.

All while the country is totally unprepared for the disaster that is moving straight at them. It is heart breaking.

Yeah it is incredible, government is in total state of denial, and total lack of proper education or measurements.

Why is it incorrect? What part do you think was different, in the Federal Council's announcement?

A walk in the forest without seeing a single human being is one benefit of living in Aargau...maybe the rain also helped

Re: Coronavirus

This virus is different to the usual seasonal virus, it doesn‘t collect „Like a cloud“. It can‘t carry in the fresh air in the same way. It just drops

Walking in the fresh air is one of the only remaining ways to remain healthy at the moment (we also have had to give-up a lot, which is killing us), to keep your immune system strong. As long as you retain the 2m distance etc.

There are many people in risk categories (and now having read a tiny bit of this thread, in risk categories that they don‘t even realise they are in).

But really, the World is ridiculing people like Boris Johnson and Trump. If you want to remain ignorant, then do so. Only time and deaths will tell.

Stop bullying about people making walks in the forest OK? You run the risk of putting yourself in the „ignorant“ category (if you are not already there)

You can red blob me as much as you want, don‘t care. I also have a voice, and so have dared to go on this thread.

I was not bullying. I myself find it great that he goes for a walk without feeling he's broken some law. I also go walking in the forest. But there are some who would want to criminalize taking such a walk!
