...and the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Shanghai next April 17-19 is gone. https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/a...NxQB9hj4s.html

It's funny how they said "postponed" when there are other 21 races this year.
Looking at the Calendar I also hardly see a spot to squeeze it in again.

First case diagnosed in London yesterday which isn't good.
They’ve been so faking the numbers. Just look how many on that cruise ship are infected in relation to the number of passengers. Granted it could be more likely to spread there but there is something very fishy about it all. This spike could just be the start.

Have you had your flu jab? Much more effective than a non-reusable mask that becomes contaminated every time you touch it.

Not to mention the amount of Vids where we see people dropping dead in the streets of China to just name a thing.

Those numbers are fake as hell and I have no clue why there is so little official protest towards China playing hide and seek again.

Like most often some are indeed fake, others are not (or have not been proven fake or real)

Hong Kong 7s - originally scheduled to take place at the beginning of April - have been postponed until October.

When we lived in Singapore, we went to the HK 7s a few times and always had a blast! The atmosphere is pretty incredible there and some of the costumes are outrageous

Re: Coronavirus

In context:

In the USA this winter flu season, has had over 300,000 patients admitted to hospital. Over 600 deaths have been reported. This is reportedly about average.

Statistically you are more likely to die from the seasonal flu than from the coronavirus.

PS Get your flu shot.

Looks like the mismanaged quaranteen is a death sentence in China. Patients are locked away to die alone and not infect others, instead of being treated.

Well it is a logistic problem.

Nowhere to place them, nobody to treat them, no materials or medicines to offer.

Healthcare system is overrun and overwhelmed and with 1716 confirmed healthcare workers being infected and 6 of them that died and more and more people becoming infected there is actually little else to do than just lock them up and hope they are still alive when the door gets opened in some weeks...

If the numbers of infected people would be big enough here, I doubt we'd do much better. Once materials and medical staff have reached their limits there is not much else to do than to just lock people up in their homes.

300 000 infected and 600 deaths? You cannot compare it with current Chinese virus deaths.

It goes underreported there. Esp. how many medical care providers are being swept off somewhere, they get sick because they work without being allowed to rest, go to the bathroom or eat the whole day. The cannot take their clothes off, would have to use a new uniform after. Uniforms are in shortage. CZ just sent 5 tons of desinfectant, protective clothes and masks. But it is nothing.

How many medical care providers die in the US from flu this winter season?

People put themselves into quaranteen somewhere, hoping to protect their families and hoping to get a treatment. Not die in solitude, without meds, food , etc. I hope people get angry at the way things are managed there. It is inhumane.

Re: Coronavirus

It's impossible to know the real number of infected and death, but the disruption outside China is quite measurable. The "flu" does not causes auto plants to close.

Nissan is operating at 50% capacity in Japan due to lack of parts from China since today, and scheduled to a full stop 2 days next week.

Re: Coronavirus

Also it is a bit silly to compare Corona with an average flu season. Yes the flu kills much more people on a yearly base than the Coronavirus has done so far. But just ask yourself how the comparison would be if we would treat Corona equally to the average flu and do nothing as for containment and just let it run worldwide and infect whomever it can infect. Also no preventive shot is possible and all one can do is treat the symptoms.

It would make the flu look like an incapable sissy.

Except that everything that would make the government or local authorities there look bad is swept under the rug, and protesters don't even know much about what's going on in the hospitals/quaranteen houses and how they can gather to make their anger count (if they'd ever be allowed to protest, anyway). This is a totalitarian regime and anger can't do much..

It is more accurate to compare it with Spanish flu.
