Yes, it is a PR stunt but would this have happened if the EU could manage and lead a crisis?
Now Italy is being aided by China, Cuba and Russia.

Re: Coronavirus

Interesting article in German here (right click to translate to English) https://www.toponline.ch/news/zuerich/detail/news/wir-koennen-pro-woche-neun-tonnen-desinfektionsmittel-produzieren-00131251/

It states that Zurich canton have built a disinfectant production facility in the last 2 weeks that can produce 9 tonnes per week, and they've bought a machine that manufactures 32,000 FFP2 masks per day. That's the self-sufficient, problem solving attitude I like and appreciate.

Whilst we are at this topic, also consider getting a Patientenverfügung (patient instruction) in which you can write down what can and what cannot be done and a Vollmacht (PoA) so that someone near to you effectively can decide what to do - if necessary - acccording to your wishes.
Yes, the Patientenverfügung is the German version of the form, which can be downloaded from the site I indicated. (Click DE instead of FR at the top right).

A healthcare proxy can be specified on page 4 of the Detailed Version of the directive and on page 1 of the Short Version.

Odile, the tone is insulting, i don‘t give a crap where V is from. I‘m unamused.

And all you young folks, don‘t think of yourselves as trying to save the old folk. Think of it as saving resources for your age group. Maybe then we can move on.
In my area all the young folks are staying at home, it's all the old fogies who are out and about in numbers.

Inventing false statistics about car accidents does not add to the credibility of your post.

out of which 95%+ are 80+ years with at least two pre-existing conditions and didn't even die from the covid, but from complications from other diseases.
95%? another false statistic!

And are you engaging in a rigorous count? Sampling throughout the day. Maybe older people are out in numbers, maybe it‘s their gray heads which capture your attention and lead to counting errors.

So much of what we see is what we want to see. Myself included - I would not necessarily trust my observational skills.

In my neighborhood it’s all ages.

So you can walk but all the rest should stay home?

In other EU news, the last EU dictator, Orban is preparing a draft law to rule by decree for an unlimited period of time, citing the corona emergency.

People under 50 with no preexisting conditions are currently intubated in many ICUs around the country. The fact you are less likely to die of COVID if you are young and healthy doesn't mean there's no risk at all of it happening.

The lead doctor in Germany has today advised everyone to wear a mask when leaving their home. He also advises to improvise and make own masks rather than use masks needed for medical workers.

I still remember when people laughed at me at the beginning of February when I said I'd bought two boxes of masks!
No source for your claim so we can safely keep laughing.

These people are wandering around aimlessly. I go directly to the same place in the forest ALONE. Sit. And go back home.

Small sample, but the mortality rate of ICU patients in Wuhan with COVID-19 was more than 60%. Mean age of patient was almost 60.
