Has the spread of the virus slowed, or have we reached maximum testing capacity? Or maybe both..
Amount of tests is steady around 7.000 a day over the last days. But lets await the further updates of today, not all Cantons have pushed out their updates for today yet.

Re: Coronavirus

Daniel Koch, Leiter Abteilung Übertragbare Krankheiten BAG, EDI, said today 30.03.2020 that the question cannot yet be answered, nor can one yet know whether there is a flattening of the peak. What can be said is only that the results gathered, so far, seem to indicate that the exponential curve has slowed, but that it is too early to know whether this is the case.

To the eye, it looks like it might have peaked.

I haven't seen these data fit to a normal curve. I tried just now for a while to do it but my brain started to hurt. I got the numbers normalised to the peak, and pasted them in here, which spat out these parameters.

Normal Distribution: N(x; μ = 0.315752871500359, σ˛ = 0.124970647693794)
Mean = μ: 0.316
Standard Deviation = σ: 0.354
Significant is: False
Kolmogorov Smirnov Test: 0.227
P-Value: Less than 0.1

The peak daily new cases was 9 days ago, and not quite surpassed by the number for the 23rd.

Compare with the South Korean data, which nation, to my knowledge, have handled their epidemic in an exemplary manner. Unlike us in the West.

Well, yes, and no.
Restaurant chains collapse all the time. Carluccio's were already bankrupt.

Brighthouse was in the 'sub-prime' business of renting stuff to people with no money.

Yes Right. It's not showing yet but give it a few more weeks of the restrictions then it will show itself

You can read the article if you open the link in incognito mode. From what I can tell workes are criticizing amazon for being unable to provide adequate protection.

That reminds me of banks taking over other banks (think RBS, Deutsche - this list includes many) to hide bad loans/underperforming assets on their balance sheets as "acquisition costs" on their Income/P&L statements back in the day.

Just a thought and it could be far fetched, but it would be great if people who have made it through the infection (and have been tested) could somehow identify themselves e.g. a badge, official certification etc..

That way as the immunised herd grows these hardy individuals could start to re-enter normal life and get things moving.
Not so far fetched after all

'Immunity passports' could speed up return to work after Covid-19

German researchers studying how lockdown restrictions could be lifted for some people

“Immunity passports” for key workers could be a way of getting people who have had coronavirus back into the workforce more quickly, scientists and politicians in the UK have suggested.

Researchers in Germany are currently preparing a mass study into how many people are already immune to the Covid-19 virus, allowing authorities to eventually issue passes to exclude workers from restrictive measures currently in place.

Interesting. Now all of a sudden a person who went through it is immune? A few days ago the info was different.

That's not what the linked article says at all.

You could read it rather than post your reply on what you think it says.

There is no doubt many companies will use C-19 to mask underlying performance issues / pre-C-19 market weakness.
