Maybe I'm just watching less or losing interest ..

But does it feel like the "hype", the "panic" or whatever you want to call it is slowing down?? Less in the news, social media etc..? Are we just getting used to it?

I watch the local Romandie news and a little UK news.. The focus is now more firmly on the side effects first, business, people, lifestyle, exsersizing at home etc.. The death rate stats are secondary now?

Personally I've given up trying to figure what numbers are correct for CH..

Are we starting to see the media prepare us for the return to normality already?
Yes. THe people are now just resigned to their fate.

We're in the period where we have to await how the restrictions work out and are also awaiting answers from lab on important questions which is why there is little change in current daily life compared to last week.

If I'm not mistaken, that data is up until the 28th. They're probably waiting for the faxes to get scanned.

You need to read EFers more often... There have been predictions for young intubated patients and a wave of hospital overloading coming any day now...For the last 2-3 weeks. So far nothing has materialized so far. Expect the numbers t decline as we have been in "lock down" for 2 weeks. So the peak has been passed for Switzerland

When you see the victims age in general you understand why media are slowly starting to low down the tone. 99% of Italy's victims have been fighting partisans in 1945... And some even witnessed the Great War

You call the almost 1'100 newly infected from yesterday a decline?

Pathetic.
You find old people "pathetic"? If that is your reason then OK.

You still do not explain why you ignore all the other risk groups or maybe you believe they do not matter?

FWIW it's actually 701 new according to BAG. Although I agree no clear decline as yet, but at least thanks to the emergency measures the rate of increase has stabilised.

Is a Cold War mentality returning to the UK ?

RSG's - Regional seats of Government ( now called Strategic Coordination Centres ) are now
being implemented across the UK.
Yes the same people who practised being deployed to their RSG's during Cold War turns hot
exercise scenarios during the 1960's, 70's & 80's are now being deployed to the SCC's.

Now there will be regional 'Gold Commanders' instead of 'Regional Commisioners'.

No doubt many of them still housed in Cold War era bunkers like Hampshire and the Wessex
region was going to be co-ordinated by an Emergency planning Bunker in Winchester.
Which is still there today and coming into their own again !!

Daily Echo - The Cold War may have ended but Hampshire C.C's bunker is still used today !!

The announcement comes 1.10 secs into the Daily Briefing below:

UK Government Daily Briefing - return of the RSG's as SCC's ?
Inside the Welsh Governments Emergency Coordination Centre bunker:

Video tour of the Welsh Governments Emergency Coordination Centre for Wales ( ECCW ) in Cardiff,
that was dubbed the No-Deal Brexit Bunker last year but is returning to it's true purpose after the
Cold War as ( no doubt ) being one of the UK's primary regional Strategic Coordination Centres.

Data has been updated today. There are various (sometimes good) reasons why faxes are still being used - not only in CH.

Remember testing numbers has increased multiple times yet the number of new infected is not following the trend.

IETF specifications exist for transmitting IP data over avian carriers

https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc1149
https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc2549

It says "avian carriers" but we all know it refers to carrier pigeons You'd need a lot of them though...

The old and vulnerable need to be protected, or protect themselves.
But that's just common sense, which is maybe why it needs to be pointed out to you.

The data reported by BAG isn't necessarily up to date IMO.

Lol. How about those humanoid robots on weels distributing hydroalc. gel and masks. So high tech, no lives risked. Looked good on TV.

I bet we can create very data-transfer safe machines that transfer daily stats in a sec to the tradition's liking...looking like a fax machine? The reports all nice and...faxy?
