Re: Coronavirus

Its obvious that the CH Government has no idea of when the lockdown is going to end. The just say the meaningless " its too early"excuse. Simply put-no idea. They got us in but they have no idea how to get us out!

And what is your complaint? That people are not answering a question to which nobody knows the answer?

"It’s too early" is hardly an excuse. It’s a statement of obvious fact. This kind of pointless howling at the moon is doing my head in.

Wait for more research results on how immunity works out, and wait for more widespread testing to know how releasing restrictions would work out on the medical system and if those data are know make a plan that fits the facts instead of listening to some dude who goes out every day to complain at other people going out sounds to me like a solid strategy.

I have to say I was shocked yesterday when I ventured out for the first time in 2 weeks, expecting to see streets deserted apart from a few mask-wearing rebels.

It was almost like a normal day. Queues at the bus stop, supermarket car parks full, not a mask in sight. I stopped at only one shop, a small bakery, where no one was practising social distancing, and the sales assistant got impatient with me for not approaching the counter while the previous customer was still packing his bag.

I got home, profoundly disillusioned and quite depressed by the experience.

Report it to the police: 117
I did it and they responded within 3 minutes

...I don't anticipate much synchronization. We surely haven't seen much so far...

So far we have utterly neglected the economy....
I agree with the first bit but disagree with the second. Switzerland kept its borders and businesses open longer, hoping to minimize the impact on the economy. I think authorities hoped they would not need to take the same steps as Italy but eventually realized something had to be done.

Unfortunately, it seems many of the people who can't work at their regular jobs are not staying home, they're out and about. Which kind of defeats the purpose of closing...

Indeed:

(Stand 26. 3.)
Translation of the above:
"The per capita comparison of infected persons should also be treated with caution. For two reasons: Firstly, because the per capita percentage increases faster in countries with smaller populations than in larger countries, and secondly, because many countries have very different testing procedures. Countries such as Norway, South Korea and Switzerland have tested much more per capita than the United States, the UK or France."

I think they definitely want the lockdown to stay in effect through Easter. Otherwise the numbers of people going out will be even worse than what has been reported.

But yes, the trick is now that we're in it how do we get out and I don't think that's been considered much yet.

But I thought they blocked the lake promenades?
https://www.limmattalerzeitung.ch/li...arks-137227758
Are people perhaps climbing over those barriers, or breaking them down?

Looks to me like wipkingerpark on the limmat and that one is not blocked.

(also makes sense since it is close to other locations he made complaints about in the past.)

Re: Coronavirus

I’m sorry, but I can’t ‘hear’ this chit-chat anymore. If you are in Switzerland, and see a group of more than 5 people that are not keeping a minimum of 2 meters distance (6.56168 feet), then please call the police on 117.

There is a part of the Police force mandated by the Swiss police that are there to control such cases. People (offenders) being stupid are informed, and the situation is controlled. And after that these idiots are hopefully not so stupid.

I reported, and the Police responded within 3 minutes. Bravo Swiss Police!
