THey only put him in IC as a precaution. He's conscious though
Either way, the statistics don't lie, about 50% of people that enter intensive care with this virus at Boris Johnson's age don't come out again. After 10 days the decline in ones health has been reported as being unbelievably rapid. I expect the fact that he worked through those 10 days won't have helped his situation either

Well yes if he is a smoker then his chances of survival will drop dramatically

Actually it was 50% of those on ventilators that died according to a UK study, not "merely" intensive care. Although that was a very small sample (162) and I've seen other reports of nearer 25%.

In any event Johnson is in intensive care not ventilation and according to a Chinese study currently has a 17% chance of moving on to a ventilator.

And I’ve seen 60% dying on a vent. So they really need to pull the data together. I thought that perhaps moving him to ICU was a precautionary measure.

I was just going off the Twitter thread posted below. 1 in 2 or 1 in 4, neither are good odds when ones life is at stake. I expect we'll never know the true statistics until this pandemic is over.

Re: Coronavirus

He'll be getting care earlier and more intensively than Joe Bloggs from Clapham in a similar state, so he's probably not as ill as someone else receiving similar treatment. However, they won't intubate him and put him on a ventilator earlier than they would anyone else, due to the risks.

If anything happens to him it will completely transcend politics. There is already a creeping sense of misery and foreboding and this will make people even more anxious.

That might be the time to form a government of national unity.

Re: Coronavirus

I’m hearing reports of “work/travel passes” being prepared for issue that will indicate a person is unable to work from home.

In conjunction with the additional monies recently appropriated for CV support, I’m wondering if additional restrictions may be forthcoming.

Any indications?

Berset is paralysed! He does not have any capacity to make a decision. If he relaxes the restrictions and things go bad he will be criticised. If he does nothing he will be criticised. And he lacks any talent to take a risk. Its just about him thats all.

Where were any of Boris Johnson's symptoms.
I think he's trying to pull a fast one on the British people.
Well it appears I was wrong with my assumption, sometimes we just presume ill of people.

Just the type of nasty spiteful comment one would expect from Trump himself. World of difference thinking something to posting it for the public. What does that say about you as a person.

It is my genuine belief that it would be a positive thing for the world if Trump contracted COVID19 and was removed from office... of course preferably without dying.

Not just a positive thing for the USA and world at large, but actual poetic justice. I will be keeping my fingers crossed.

PS: Putln, Xl, 0rban, Erd0gan, Klm J0ng, all of these guys too...

I agree, some posts are nasty. But probably Trump himself would have posted things like this, so sometimes what goes around....comes around.

Poetic justice? That is an appealing concept. Though I doubt justice is in the form we wish. And when we wish. There're always some coincidences, we can call them that. But in BJ's case it's obvious he didn't take any precautions. Wrong advisors. Him - naive.
I don't wish him bad, but I'm not worried either. There are (by far) many other people who deserve my sympathy more.

Trump is not an actual EF member, though he's obviously inspiring lots of EFers. His supporters seem to have lost any inhibitions. Yet they expect good behaviour from others.

There's a difference you know.

And I’ve seen 60% dying on a vent. So they really need to pull the data together. I thought that perhaps moving him to ICU was a precautionary measure.
He shouldn't have special treatment which then begs the question why is he there if he doesn't need a vent? makes no sense.

Apparently does need oxygen and needs his vitals monitoring

There's plenty in ICU but not on vents for similar reasons.
