Well the health warnings against using Disinfectant as a cure for Coronavirus, have started already.
But it begs the question - who in their right minds, would take anything that Trump says seriously ??

BBC News - Disinfectant firm issues warning after Trump comments
https://www.theguardian.com/world/20...uine-phosphate

Trump should take his position more serious instead of spouting more nonsense than a 2yr old.

Steady on, he might get into one of his tantrums and throw the baby out with the bathwater, although no doubt
he's done this already by withdrawing American contributions to WHO when we need them most - in the middle
of a global Pandemic !!

You're assuming Trump supporters are in their right mind.

You see the problem?

Re: Coronavirus

Trump is desperate for any solution to the Coronavirus, because he literally can't tweet and insult it away. His whole life he's been able to bully or manipulate or simply had luck to get things to go his way. The virus doesn't play by his rules, and for him that's incomprehensible.

He's not very smart with science, so of course he's going to come up with strange questions. If bleach works, why can't we inject it? I mean it cleans stuff, right? If UV light works (what is UV anyway to Trump, he uses spray tan), then let's all get blasted with UV. I totally see where his ideas come from, and no doubt many of his supporters think he's coming up with legit solutions that are being shot down by Trump haters just because they hate Trump.

Nope, you're supposed to put homeopathic drops into your tea or water and drink them. Drip, drip.

No No and No. The worst President Trump can be accused of is foot in mouth syndrome. He was clearly talking about subject he has little understanding about.

This is what riles me. He didn't "suggest" or "advise", he was asking questions all the way through and was clear the whole time that these were only possibilities.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHkzqejFKbM

The way it's been reported, by news outlets that should know better, is appalling! The BBC headline "Trump suggests injecting disinfectant", or far worse CNN's Jim Acosta saying "Please don't follow the President's medical advice". No advice was given!!

In democracies the Press is supposed to hold governments to account, but they're making a mess of things because they keep on lying! They're as bad as the politicians and as a result people don't trust them anymore. If anyone is daft enough to inject themselves with disinfectant then it will be the press and their misreporting of events to blame, and not President Trump.

I'm sure he's a hero in those quarters, particulary he's foresight during the American Revolution ( War of Independence )
by forestalling British Redcoats flying into Dulles International Airport, by barring entry thanks to Trump's 'out of time'
intervention in securing the airports back in 1776.

I'd say they are worse. Politicians are trying to implement a change and assure progress. It is not what media are doing, they only look after their own money making and ratings. What I consider real media is old school, rts news at 7.30pm. It is dry, data packed and void of opinions. Or independent press back home. Same stuff just a tad funnier.

Tony - you are talking about the US. Where MacDo has cups for hot drinks that says "Caution - content is hot". That fake, disingenuous and malicious campaign media do in the US and that we see elsewhere only discredits the people and companies that participate in it. Everyone else loses trust and get bored. Same ol' outrage. There is nothing constructive, only childish mockery and constant negative noise. I sense a lot of people pulling away from that. It is not a matter of Trump, but how many people stoop so low for that long before the audience is completely gone. I am glad that we have a chance to be in a discrete place that values respectful political exchange in this country. Wouldn't want it to change.

Which reminds me, has Trump been tested positive yet for Foot & Mouth disease ? as he's displaying all the symptoms
for putting his foot in it and talking out of turn - always to someone 'off camera' with the microphone left full on.

If you don't think Trump was strongly hinting or suggesting about those things as both possibilities and potential recommendations, then you are either hopelessly naive or socially inept. Possibly both.

For a standing president to say on public TV things about injecting disinfectant potentially fighting off COVID19, something that everyone can do at home, is just unbelievable. It's not "foot in mouth", its intentional and completely dangerous and there is a real chance that some people will try it over the next few days.

Re: Coronavirus

There are presidents that communicate. Then there are those who overcommunicate. Then those who just stand there with a pretty face. Then those who get ill and country worries..They are just as different as any of us. Why focus so much on a yank president who's term is either over or will double by only a few years. Why invest so much energy, research, multitudes of studies, pseudostudies and pop-psychology to multiply his media presence, for free. Solid outrage needs to be earned. All this overreaction hasn't even been earned. He did not cause coronavirus, he only pointed out where the virus came from. The lag at the beginning was identical to: China, Italy, France...UK, where leadership in crisis is strictly political. Trump then moved to expert advisors, which was certainly not a bad move. Yet the entire world will laugh at Trump instead of figuring out the way from a very bigly economical turmoil we are about to live through..

There are people who write illogical posts. Then there are people who write confusingly garbled posts. Then those who sit there and just allow a stream of disjointed consciousness to make their way from their head to the keyboard. You somehow manage to be all three of those things.

Right. Speaking of multitasking, you managed to jump to being offensive and personal, which is a shame. But unsurprising.

I would understand anyone not wanting to believe it, because the very notion that any sane or reasonable person would even hint at such a thing is generally ludicrous... but the appalling truth is that he did. And he's the POTUS.

He did not. And covfefe was a typo ("coverage"). But what can you do when all these people there want Trump to be this way? We are not in the US, why get so concerned by all that obvious malice.
