Hey you hipsterbeard wearers....

I'd avoid going to America if I were you. Seems your beard is a harbinger of all things nasty.

So I should let my beard grow, prefer to have Corona when there's still a bed free for me in hospital

But seriously, I don't fear the disease I'm also not in a group of high-risk people. But am not looking forward to the upcoming disruptions it will cause, I expect our Kita will eventually close by the time Zürich has a bunch of cases which to me is just a matter of time before they are diagnosed. Economy will take a hard hit as it is just a matter of time before international trade will come to an even further slow down this with all negative effects on medicine and other needed supplies, I can see people wanting to flee from the most hard hit regions. To me it is by now way to far spread to put a halt to it, so perhaps governments should change tactics.

Thanks Tom.
I'd been looking for a 10k piece jigsaw in case we end up in lockdown, but now I'll relearn all the canton names in all the languages instead.

I can help you there Blueangel, and the capital towns of each Canton you can learn too

Glad to read that it is from my 'neat stuff' pile on the laptop. Came across that many years ago and saved it for latter use...which I now have...used it that is

But how do you effectively close such border? Send out the army and shoot who tries to rush through? If you're not willing to do so (which we are not) it makes no sense and is just symbolical, besides that we'd need to close the airports, we need to close the borders with Germany, Austria and France. Italy has so many since they decided to test a truckload of people, here we only test those that report themselves and are suspected just a couple of hundreds up to now. Maybe if we would do 100.000 random tests we'd learn that we already have hundreds of cases in the country (which I tbh would expect already)
It doesn’t have to involve shooting, but there should be some plan and thought given to the possibility of “pandemic refugees” crossing the border in search of medical care or supplies. Particularly those with no intention or ability to leave of their own accord.

That's fantastic! Thank you!

When we arrived, I bought a desk mat from Conforama with a map of all the cantons to help me learn. Also bought these for my OH https://www.heimatwerk.ch/en/Shop-Produkte-52829.html

They come to work and infect the rest of us.

Mike Pence is on it, so we will just pray our way out of this one...

If having had the virus does not immunise you then why are they wasting time trying to develop a vaccine to immunise us?
Or maybe they will advise us being vaccinated every week?

If it's an emergency then they go to the emergency room (A&E) and they will be treated. Then they'll empty their own bank account, ask friends and family, or start a GoFundMe page to pay for it all.

In terms of medical leave, there's the Family Medical Leave Act, which covers many employees but not all. The rules are a bit complicated so I won't go into them here. Basically, if you qualify you can take up to 12 weeks of UNPAID leave for your own serious health condition or for that of a spouse or child.

There is no federal requirement for paid sick leave, and you can be fired while out sick.

You're always supposed to boil or bake pasta.
But my Italian friends tell me that you shouldn't boil it too much or it'll be Pasta its Besta.

Doctors aren't 100% convinced it's a case of being completely cured and re-infected vs an infection that gets knocked back or lies dormant only to emerge again.

From the article:
Quote:
Tierno said much remains unknown about the virus. “I’m not certain that this is not bi-phasic, like anthrax,” he said, meaning the disease appears to go away before recurring.

So far so good! I’m managing to contain the virus by staying positive and away from crowds I will even go to ski slopes during the week to avoid the crowds on weekends. Home office should be administered by almighty Top Managements as a preventive method!

Infodemic. The seasonal flu has infected many thousands and killed many hundreds, but we don't hear of that.
