Hope people do this voluntarily, it will be hard to enforce.

Re: Coronavirus

And in another alternative world
Quote:
Brazil's President Jair Bolsonaro said on Thursday he felt weak and might have "mold in the lung" having spent weeks in isolation after catching Covid-19.

In his first Facebook live video since recovering from Covid-19, Bolsonaro said: "I've just taken a blood exam. I was a bit weak yesterday. They have also found a bit of an infection. I'm taking antibiotics now. It must have been those 20 days inside the house, we catch other things. I've caught mold, mold in my lungs. It must be that."

The President spent nearly 20 days in semi-isolation, after testing positive for the virus on July 7 and on subsequent occasions.
Some pre-illness Bolsonaro quotes
Brazilians may have a natural immunity to the coronavirus
Described it as a “little flu”, and said he would not be seriously affected.

Russian media reckon they’ve cracked the vaccine and will start administering it in October. From what I’ve read it sounds like they’ve cut A LOT of corners in the research. What could possibly go wrong??!?

Yeah true.

I just had a chat to my neighbor about the vaccine issue. She works for Novartis.

Basically the problem is that the virus mutates over time and current vaccines become ineffective. “This vaccine thing is a bit of a joke” was the answer I received.

I suppose I will have to think harder about quitting smoking...

Flu mutates significantly over time. Coronaviruses I believe rather less so?

The general view is that the coronavirus mutates around four times slower than flu. They have some sort of internal RNA proofreading mechanism which helps keep them stable.

Good of them to go first.

All things being equal, I'd probably risk the virus than the vaccine at the moment.

Re: Coronavirus

Somewhere back in this thread I mentioned my friends company, hospitality, that had furloughed all their staff, 600 or 800, cannot remember, in London

They've just made 60% redundant, and turnover is at 20% compared to last year. He's very gloomy about the future.

Yes Russia's notorious Internet Research Agency also known as the Trolls from Olgino, hacks are coming up
'Trumps' ( excuse the pun ) after all.

Also your right TC they have cut a lot of corners and are fast tracking it. As for what can possibly go
wrong - do you remember the Russian Concordeski and the defect in it's design ? - fast tracked from
Soviet espionage sourced information from the west of course.

Testing has probably already started among political prisoners and among opposition supporters

Unfortunately for Putin, the vaccine might actually work and the opposition will survive!

I went to The Ball of the August Moon at the President's Palace in Malta last night. We all had our temperatures taken, hands sanitised, groups limited to 10, all outside with tables 2m apart.

The Staff wore masks & looked like something out of Stanley Kubrick Clockwork Orange
