If 10% of each group reacted you're probably lucky, 1-2-3% seems much more realistic. And of those who do get a significant number of replies you may get 20% who actually provide feedback.

Look around here, how many posters (try to) provide helpful feedback if someone asks? It's "always" the same few.

I was thinking: In the UK I have a circle of at least 500 people that I constantly have some interaction via the internet and directly...at the same time these people have them circle that have on average the same 500 connection via internet or directly...if multiply, my horizon from where I can research for an answer will be 250000 people...I did ask these 500 people to look in their own circles if any of the people they know were tested positive for the virus...guess what in this horizon of 250000 people the only suspected was my wife...yes my wife reflux was diagnosed first as coronavirus and after careful consultation by the specialist doctor was diagnosed as acid reflux...reflux that was triggered by using aspirin...my wife used because was panicked as I come from work sweaty passing on the bike very polluted area of London and start coughing...even if the specialist doctor confirmed that was a mistake the coronavirus diagnoses, in the register she remained as positive...

Re: Coronavirus

Back to Switzerland, currently Geneva is the canton with the highest incidence by far, with 97 cases per 100,000 in the last 14 days. Which means that actually, if it was a country, it would be under quarantine.

Source: RTS, 19h30 news

The cantonal physician says that is because Geneva is an urban and international canton, with busy borders, a rich social and cultural life and "highly developed leisure activities."

Apparently there's 500,000 tourists due to return from France in the next two weeks. Good luck policing that quarantine it's virtually unenforceable and reliant on the obedience of those returning.
I thought the same thing. Just returned from the States on Monday.Filled out the mandatory online form, filled out paperwork on the plane and had a visit from two plain clothes police officers this morning. Asked for passport id, registration card and if anyone else was in the house (specifically where is your husband?). I thought it funny that one of them was wearing a Visit Florida t-shirt. He did not think it was as funny as I did.

They took out my trash though, so that was nice.

That so... And I guess Basel is none of that then?

Why don't people and especially most of all these "experts du jour" - roughly all of whom have been proven various levels of wrong (such as the most recent example of that embarrassment of an "expert" interview yesterday about the massive dangers for young folks because of one dead young person who was probably on his third beer when he learned he had died) - just finally be transparent about the fact they know as little as the next guy, admit that there's no real patterns and give it a rest instead of getting their five seconds of publicity. It's really getting old.

They already do. When are people finally going to stand up to this absolute ridiculous insanity. This is no longer an emergency by any definition (if it ever was, at least across the board, but let's be generous and assume it was). What the hell is wrong with everyone that they just sit there in apathy while their freedoms are being trampled on for no reason whatsoever. As of October, I presume we'll see not a single flu death and only Covid deaths, simply so the sheep can continue to be kept in check. In total ignorance, this monster of an unreasonable mess was created that now no one knows how to get out of - just admit that already and move on, it would make governments look SO much better. But instead they make it worse, embarrassing themselves even further and treating their people with what can seriously only be described as chicanery or bullying at this stage. Zero accountability, zero leadership, zero anything. It's unbelievable.

Son going back to Uni in UK in Sep. We finally got a slot to renew his student visa next week (Chicago - 6 hour drive). Warwick says they have quarantine dorms available where they will bring him food/etc for the 14 day period.

How to get there from Heathrow? Oh, just take public transport...

How did you s ever manage to rule the world?

Honestly? Everyone does, here or crossing the country - I see nobody sans a mask.

You’re obviously not looking very hard.

It is pretty well respected but certainly not 100%. Every single bus or train that I have seen has had at least one person not wearing a mask.

For those flying from Basel, is this considered as France or Switzerland??
Apparently France. Found this bit...

“We went to Switzerland for two weeks,” he explained, “and the airport we’re flying home from [EuroAirport Basel Mulhouse Freiburg] has 200m to 300m of it technically on French soil. So we’re going through Swiss customs but still have to quarantine when we get back.”

39,211 people in Switzerland died this year. That is less than in the same period last year.

More amazing than stating someone had died, when they hadn't, this patient would have been the first Covid19 death of someone under 30 in Switzerland.

It's time governments bit the bullet and started different rules for different age groups. I would be more than happy to comply with measures on an age basis, if it allowed economies and people under say 40 or 50 to lead normal lives again - and be able to go to school, take exams, travel without threat of quarantine...

That’s all very well in theory but would be quite difficult to put into practice in my opinion.

There are many mixed aged households plus younger people who are in the ‘at risk’ categories etc.
