Come on. Every respectable doctor/virologist says that infection will always be a function of time and dose of exposure to virus. Walking by someone will have close to zero risk.
Can you please provide a credible source for your "next to zero" outdoors risk assessment?

What I wrote is that the risk of infection is a function of how long and to how much viral load your are exposed. This I have heard repeatedly and as recently as last Friday in the weekly CIDRAP podcast.

Sorry, you're right. I should have done some more research.

According to an unpublicised report from the Chinese government, the first case can be traced back to 17 November 2019; the person was a 55-year old citizen in the Hubei province.

Please, please, please...read, think, then engage fingers.

COVID-19 wasn't a thing before 2019, but COVID certainly was as it is a generic portmanteau of Coronavirus and Disease dating back to the 30s.

I know but Olygirl explicitly wrote Covid-19 - not Corona.

Agree on deaths and hospitalizations as more useful indicators than case numbers.

Disagree on the other point. Yes, there are no long term studies of lasting side effects yet (naturally). There are "anecdotes" also of people who never were terribly sick or hospitalized. A number of doctors stating that Covid can have very complex effects on different parts of your system.
True, my gut feeling is that lasting severe side effects are quite uncommon though. Boris Johnson was in intensive care with the virus and is back (badly) running the UK. Too soon in my opinion and he still looks to be far off full fitness. The likes of Matt Hancock, Nadine Dorris, Idris Elba, Michel Barnier, Dominic Cummings seem to have no lasting effects from having had the virus. More study is needed before it is fully understood.

Yes let us see studies, and with all respect until then your gut feeling is not enough to make me less cautious

Being crap at running a government so far was not on my list of long term effects, though. Maybe a lot more politicians have had Covid and still suffer?

Not seen my 91 year old mother since December, since all 3 countries I spend time on are now on the list.
My only option is get a test, likely to be OK as I had antibodies in June, then to fly to London in the morning, isolate at my mothers for a couple of hours & fly home in the evening. Just my luck some retaliation isolation will occur during the day.
I visited London today, I am sitting on the runway waiting to fly home now.
I filled in the advance passenger locator form showing arrival & departure on the same day. I used the E Gates & never spoke to a human on arrival, all totally uneventful.

Why are you claiming most COVID-19 victims are sinners?
Because they did not wear masks or take proper precautions perhaps?

Re: Coronavirus

A massive dump of testing data from Quest Diagnostics -- dating as far back as April -- is skewing the data, the Florida Department of Health (FDOH) said.

FDOH issued a warning: today’s numbers aren’t really today’s numbers.

The state clarified the data further, showing what the update would have been without the Quest data, and what it is with the Quest data:
Without the Quest data, the state would have added 3,773 new cases with a positivity rate of 5.9% -- well in line with current trends of the last 7-10 days.
With the positive test Quest data added, the total new cases became 7,643 with a positivity rate of 6.8%.

So a reporting failure almost halved the real number of new cases.

You might care to run your gut feelings against this site which is about long term covid-19 after effects.
