The only reason for the delay is all non urgent CT scans did not happen for 3-4 months. Most of the Hospital staff were sent home on reduced hours.

I was not talking about the UK, what led you to believe I was?
Again, where exactly? You still didn't answer. I don't know anyone who wasn't treated properly if they needed medical care. You're constantly talking about different countries here as if certain things such as lockdown are already in place in CH too.

What don't you understand about non urgent? Turn up at A&E you will get one within an hour if truly urgent.
Did you get your teeth cleaned by the dentist over lockdown?

So you wanted a CT exactly for....what? If it wasn't urgent or maybe not even necessary then what's the relevance to this discussion? In Switzerland at least, everything was open for business already in May if not earlier. My dentist's praxis was open for urgencies only between 17.03. and 19.04. It was basically one month, nothing really terrible apart from urgencies could have happened. Since you asked, I checked. But I can bet with you, if teeth cleaning was deemed urgent, he would have performed it himself.

If you read the declaration, it is not just those esteemed scientists, virologists and epidemiologists in the US. Have you taken the time to read the declaration?
Yes, I did read the declaration (and know that it is based on a letter that they had written). And I think those signatories failed to consider all of the variables. For example, what if the virus mutated parallel with a second wave (as had happened with the Spanish Flu), and it came to a point where there were no ICU beds available? Do you remember what was happening in parts of Italy last March? They were having to store bodies in churches. I just read the other day that around Paris right now, 40% of ICU beds are taken up by COVID patients. And considering what the numbers have been doing in Europe, I can't imagine that situation improving anytime soon.

I think those signatories also failed to consider the Hippocratic Oath. Their responsibility as medical professionals is to protect people's health and save lives -- not to protect the economy or people's stock investments.

Given their background and credentials, I think their views should be taken into account.
And would you also take into account the views of people with the same or comparable background and credentials whose views were the opposite of theirs? There are many examples where medical professionals and scientists have recommended lockdowns to try to control the spread of the virus. So it's not like there a scientific or medical consensus out there that lockdowns do more harm than good, but obviously that Declaration has tried to make it appear as such.

Thousands of doctors call for lockdown
https://www1.racgp.org.au/newsgp/cli...l-for-lockdown

Second national lockdown proposed by UK scientific advisers
https://www.ft.com/content/77a1e3b6-...f-df19fd22f235
"Leading scientists advising the UK government have proposed a two-week national lockdown in October to try to tackle the rising number of coronavirus cases."

A follow up CT Scan 9 months after the first scan, carried out as an emergency. The follow up could be done at any point, it's so the medical file can be closed.

My scan was in April & before the 19 April. It got cancelled due to Coronavirus, which I will point out to you is the title of the thread, therefore relevant to the thread.

Amusingly you were the only person to reply & more than once. You must be very board today, replying to non relevant posts

Switzerland is not in lockdown anymore for quite some time now and nobody is talking about another one any time soon. Yet, this theme is brought up here quite frequently (i.e. lockdown and its consequencies), so it is natural to ask about which countries you're all talking about. (I'm guessing each to their own)

Let's make it clear then - this is a "Corona thread" not really relevant for people living in Switzerland.

Geneva state councilor admits the current quarantine rules make no sense and bring no benefit.

"In terms of health, these quarantines do not have sufficient benefit to be maintained."

"We realize that often the regions at risk are less at risk than the region of Switzerland where these people come from"

I have not brought this up, so why are you replying to me implying that I have. The thread is in Family / Health matters part of the forum, I don't get your point.

Looks like you are flogging a dead horse once again, you are not my wife, I don't have to agree with anything you say

Exactly. Most/many people were carrying on with their routines - going for a walk, taking kids to play ground etc even when we were in "lockdown".

I believe that's just Saturday and Sunday. Friday numbers were reported as 1487.

Correction: Just read that it is Friday, Sat, Sun. Wish that made me feel better.
But Friday's comm refers to Thursday's tests.

Indeed my 83 year old aunt went shopping 3 times a day in Nyon throughout. Shop keepers kept telling her she should stay at home, she took no notice as it only effects frail old people.

Cases exploding, hospitalizations rising slowly, deaths at 1-2 per day. Not bad, hope it stays like that.

Keep in mind that nobody on this forum is an expert in pandemics and that we are all posting our opinions. For real news, have a look at BAG, WHO, scientific sites or news sites.
