Forbes are just playing semantics, and it's the reason why people don't trust the press anymore.
Rubbish. Nothing to do with Forbes, every report is the same.

For reference, here's the full text.

Quote:
“We in the World Health Organization do not advocate lockdowns as the primary means of control of this virus,” Dr. David Nabarro told The Spectator’s Andrew Neil in an interview that aired Thursday.

Nabarro cited the unintended consequence of economic destruction, including poverty and food shortages in some areas of the world, as a reason for governments to make every effort to avoid effectively locking people in their homes whenever possible.

“The only time we believe a lockdown is justified is to buy you time to reorganize, regroup, rebalance your resources, protect your health workers who are exhausted, but by and large, we’d rather not do it,” he said.

The WHO special envoy added, “Just look at what’s happened to the tourism industry, for example in the Caribbean, or in the Pacific, because people aren’t taking their holidays.

“Look what’s happened to smallholder farmers all over the world,” he said. “Look what’s happening to poverty levels. It seems that we may well have a doubling of world poverty by next year. We may well have at least a doubling of child malnutrition.”

“We really do appeal to all world leaders: Stop using lockdown as your primary control method, develop better systems for doing it, work together and learn from each other. But remember, lockdowns just have one consequence that you must never, ever belittle, and that is making poor people an awful lot poorer.”

p.s. I am not even venturing into the fact that interviews are notoriously bad at providing reliable data.
I'd interpret it as 3.9% was brave enough to consider they didnt wear a masks

Well that was at a time when there was no surplus of masks. Now with 800M CHF worth of masks lying around in Switzerland only, somebody needs to keep buying them

And you are absolutely correct, the way most people use masks is counterproductive at best
You hang the cords over your ears and cover your nose and face with the rest, it is not so difficult to use them?

Please explain how "the way most people use masks is counterproductive at best" or is that yet another fact-free claim?

Oh no, it's true alright. Have you not noticed the only bans that have been handed out in this discussion have all been to those on the sceptical side of the Covid debate? And all by the same moderator?

It's just activist moderation and nothing new in internet forums.
Bingo!

This is actually not strictly true - I was misinterpreting a different rule, for which I apologise.

However, the point is still valid - simply linking to twitter, which is itself linking to another source, is poor practice, especially when that's a video, and is often done to try to discourage people from accessing the original text.

From the CDC.
Those who get sick with Covid19:
Wear a mask ALWAYS — 70.6%
NEVER wear a mask — 3.9%
https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/69/...mm6936a5-H.pdf
page 4
You are misunderstanding the study, that is not the conclusion.

The conclusion was that in situations where wearing a mask is not feasible like eating and drinking then you must take additional precautions.

With a name like Vlad, maybe cross immunity is something he would like further funding for. Also garlic immunity.

Let's have a sweepstake.. What's going to be announced/restricted tomorrow..?

My guess is pubs, early closing, nightclubs shut.. Work from home directive back again.

Possibly cinema, sports clubs ?

Schools no actions yet.

Plus in any event completely misrepresenting the statistics.

The sample is too small and uncontrolled for meaningful analysis but I do note that whereas 70.6% of the case patients always wore a mask, 74.6% of the control did. So for that small sample masks protect.

I suspect that after intense deliberation and compromises from all federal bodies (with the exception of the SVP), the councilors will decide to change the color of the BAG posters from orange to yellow. The material shall stay the same but Selbstverantwortung and its equivalents in the other languages will be italicized.

Genetic makeup differed but by how much? There are already many mutations of Coronavirus out there from what I understand. Would that genetic difference have been enough to re-infect a healthy individual who was not suffering from white blood cell cancer? Now that is the real question.

There seem to be serious reasons to be worried about Corona when combined with incompetent governments world over. I want to die only once but all this fear is killing me multiple times daily
Study points to single mutations that allow flu to slip past immune system of some people, but not others.

Source

Coronavirus has not been around long enough to give a definitive answer to your question.

I have not seen any evidence that people with comorbities are more susceptible to being infected with coronavirus.
