I know people who have died, does that count?
That would depend on what they died from.

With all these huge increases in numbers I still personally know of less than 10 people who have been infected, including people at work ..

I'm not trying to say the virus is fake here, I don't assume that the government is telling blatant lies.. I just find it a little surprising, nobody in my extended circle of friends, nobody at the gym, none of the neighbours, kids classes at school, kids after school clubs..etc .. Just a handful of people from work who were all fine after a few days. We're out and about completly as usual and never had a blip on the covid app either.

Back in the UK my brother had it, said it was crap for a week, it was so bad in fact that he didn't play the xbox for a few days.

Fatigue has very much set in here with all the numbers and rules.
Last spring, we knew well over 20 people who got either confirmed positive for covid or had strong suspicion of covid. One of them got infected in the fitness club, he was 34 years old, fit and healthy. He was very very sick, complete loss of smell and taste. He said he had difficulty walking up the few steps of stairs and lost weight...

In the beginning of the pandemic few people manage to get the tests, and then the hospitals refused to test the people I know saying they weren't over 65 years of age. Could that have been the reason for lower numbers before the summer?

Now past couple of weeks, we know of 3 confirmed cases and 1 person is getting the test done today.

I still don’t know a single person who has been confirmed to have been infected.
I’m really surprised by that.
My best mate confirmed this week - got it from a rugby teammate. He’s 32, fit and no health problems. He’s completely down and out currently - but most likely will pull through just fine.

I’ve known 8 others who have had it (including 4 colleagues).

The midnight rule for restaurants made me laugh, even in a corona free world where would I find a restaurant with an open kitchen after 21.30 in canton Vaud?

Re: Coronavirus

Masks will be compulsory for kids at school from secondary 1 (9th grade) in Vaud. I’ve just got the official email from the department. All school trips are cancelled until summer, except single class day trips.

I heard they are still going forward with the sports stuff though. I always thought they would stick to the smaller groups after outbreak 1 but nope.

For junior clubs only, and professional clubs. Not adult amateurs.

From quickly reading the SRF ticker, my impression is that BAG will have to recommend quite tough measures to Bundesrat to be taken asap. They seem to have lost control completely. I don't have the feeling that people are really reducing contacts.

They did say that Romands dine later than their German counterparts.

Amateur sports allowed for minors. (bye bye muay thai and boldering, sniffff)

They are entering bravely into such details because of the priority to protect health while saving people's businesses.

Really genuine efforts, they know it can last only a few days before federal decisions could change it. I doubt they got any sleep lately, they follow other press conferences and coordinate decisions intercantonally.

Quick tests will be used, waiting for green light. It will be used in edu environment, too. Focus on finding the infection clusters.

From what I understand ZH not interested in closing sports centres, can Federal government overrule cantons in such matters?

We may find out on Wednesday. The COVID task force sounded annoyed with the canton of ZRH and their lack of action, Federal council may act for them
