Re: Coronavirus

Stores around here lack nothing.

I will check on the situation in Italy when I go to buy fresh fish during my lunch break on Friday.

Should be. Shelves aren't as cleared as they were Saturday. Still can't find any dried yeast.
Aldi has got dried yeast in 10pcs Packs ... also recently found dark & light muscovado sugar there

Our local store had no flour, no loo roll, no UHT milk and not much tinned food.

In Geneva Globus and Manor, plenty of caviar, smoked salmon, truffle oil, petits fours, prime fillets of beef, Champagne... left on the shelves.

This site seems to have more up to date info re: Switzerland and breaks it down by canton. Looks as though, Switzerland is up to 55 cases (soon to overtake the UK perhaps?). Here is the link:

My mates who emigrated to Perth, Australia, posted photos of the completely empty shelves in their local supermarket today. ..
Similar sights in Melbourne.

It differs a bit who has the most accurate number (read highest), government does not release numbers 24/7 and sites do not crawl/update constantly. I now see 55, 56 and 57.

However I'd say we're also passed the point where some more or less matter when it comes to numbers.

If you put the liquid of all 3 cans in one big glass and drink it while live streaming this I'll donate some.

This is madness! What about hotels? Weddings, churches... will there be people counting how many people enter Migros??
They can run it like a nightclub, posting bouncers on the doors, saying things like "you can't come in here with that Coop bag for life mate!". Cumulus card holders only of course, and maybe hang up some of those parking place counters too.

How does one sneeze into the elbow. I'm not double jointed like Houdini!
To determine if you are a reincarnation of Houdini, try to put your elbow in your ear. Should that fail, then I suggest you cough into the crook of your elbow instead.

The limits on crowd sizes, home working policies, cancellation of all football matches, pdf of policy and strategy in the public domain so that anyone can see where they're at and what the next steps would be. It's very formulaic, but open and reassuring.
Rather a lot is being done. Guidelines issued through schools, councils etc. Lots of information. I guess it's harder with a substantially larger population.

Re: Coronavirus

If you cant find masks anywhere then its said a condom offers the same protection. You wont die from the Corona but maybe by asphyxiation. And of course women can also wear them!

For those mocking the empty churches, in times like these, churches are actually likely to see quite an uptake in attendance. The Vaud churches are issuing hygiene instructions, including using individual cups for communion, not placing the wafer (?) directly in the mouth and maybe to dip it in the wine. And of course to wash hands before beginning communion. Holy water is being removed as well, and people are not being encouraged to shake hands at the end of the service. Maybe bring your own cup?

It may come, if a town is confined to residence, that they'll just have to livestream the service. Interesting times indeed!
Surge in South Korea coronavirus cases linked to church ‘super-spreader’
A sudden spike in cases of the novel coronavirus in South Korea has been traced back to a “super-spreader” of the illness who is believed to have infected at least 40 people after attending church services in the city of Daegu.

Meanwhile, my village's Fasnacht celebrations went ahead as usual.

My employer has split many teams in two, so as of tomorrow we do one week at home and one week in the office in anti-phase, so to speak.

I have taken to a daily upgrade to first class to lessen the chances of having to sit within one meter of someone facing in my direction. I am no longer the first person at the exit door. Someone else can press the button. etc.
